Abstract

Football is a sport that requires good technical, biomotor, and psychomotor abilities, including in performing a long throw in. The ability to execute a long throw in is influenced not only by throwing technique but also by muscle strength, explosive power, coordination, and balance. This study aimed to analyze the contribution of biomotor and psychomotor factors to the long throw-in ability of football players at Korwil Widodaren Soccer School. The study employed a quantitative method with a correlational research design. The sample consisted of 20 players selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments included the push-up test, medicine ball test, paired ball throw test, stork stand test, and long throw in test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, multiple linear regression, f-test, t-test, and correlation analysis. The results showed that biomotor and psychomotor factors simultaneously had a significant effect on long throw in ability, with a significance value of 0.017 (< 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.532 indicated that 53.2% of the variance in long throw in ability was explained by the push-up, medicine ball, paired ball throw, and stork stand variables, while the remaining 46.8% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Partially, none of the variables showed a significant effect (p > 0.05). However, the medicine ball variable had the greatest contribution, with a beta coefficient value of 0.481. Therefore, long throw in ability is influenced by the combined contribution of biomotor and psychomotor factors.
