Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of ease of use on usage of mobile banking, with trust as a mediating variable at PT Bank BCA Syariah Banda Aceh Branch Office. The research adopts a quantitative approach using primary data collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 96 respondents selected through purposive sampling, with the criteria of active users of mobile banking services. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Data analysis techniques include descriptive statistics and classical assumption tests consisting of normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests, followed by multiple linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing was conducted using t-tests, along with the coefficient of determination (R²). The results show that ease of use has a positive and significant effect on trust (t = 3.957), indicating that a user-friendly system enhances customer confidence in mobile banking services. Furthermore, trust has a positive and significant effect on usage of mobile banking (t = 4.506), confirming its important role in influencing user behavior. Simultaneously, ease of use and trust significantly affect usage of mobile banking (F = 92.690; sig < 0.001). The R² value of 0.666 indicates that 66.6% of the variation in usage of mobile banking is explained by the model, while the remaining is influenced by other variables.
