Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of workload and work environment on turnover intention among transportation drivers at a logistics company in Tuban. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires from 136 randomly selected respondents and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results reveal a counterintuitive finding: workload has a significant negative effect on turnover intention, indicating that drivers choose to remain in their roles despite heavy workloads, likely due to economic necessities and limited alternative job opportunities. In contrast, the work environment alone does not significantly affect turnover intention, although both factors jointly exert a significant influence on drivers' intentions to leave. Practically, these findings imply that logistics management must implement data-driven retention strategies that focus on equitable workload distribution and the enhancement of workplace facilities to effectively support driver well-being and ensure workforce stability.
