Abstract

Intraoperative hypotension is a common complication of cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia, requiring systematic monitoring and appropriate management. This study aimed to describe intraoperative hypotension management among patients undergoing cesarean section with spinal anesthesia at Emanuel Banjarnegara Hospital. A quantitative descriptive observational study was conducted in the operating room from May to June 2026. Total sampling included 35 eligible patients. Primary data were collected through direct observation of blood pressure, hypotension events, and management actions, supplemented by medical records. Data were analyzed descriptively using frequencies and percentages in SPSS version 26. Most respondents were aged 26–35 years (42.9%), had normal body mass index (60.0%), were multiparous (65.7%), and had no history of preeclampsia (77.1%). All were classified as ASA II and received bupivacaine and crystalloid fluid. Baseline blood pressure was normal in 77.1%, and surgery lasted less than 60 minutes in 54.3%. Intraoperative hypotension occurred in five respondents (14.3%), while 30 (85.7%) did not meet the hypotension criteria. Ephedrine administration was documented in five respondents (14.3%). These findings describe hypotension occurrence and documented management and may inform improvements in perioperative documentation and future evaluation.
