Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product innovation, business experience, and risk-taking propensity on the performance of culinary MSMEs in Lhokseumawe City. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a population of 1,650 MSMEs and a sample of 95 MSME owners selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS. The results indicate that product innovation does not have a significant effect on business performance, whereas business experience and risk-taking propensity have a positive and significant impact. Collectively, the three variables explain 40.1% of the variation in business performance, while the remaining 59.9% is influenced by factors outside the model. These findings demonstrate that experience and risk-taking propensity are crucial factors in enhancing the performance of culinary MSMEs in Lhokseumawe City.
