Abstract

Household waste management in rural areas remains a significant challenge due to limited waste management facilities, leading many residents to dispose of waste into rivers or burn it in open spaces. These practices contribute to environmental pollution and produce smoke emissions that may adversely affect public health. This study aims to analyze the differences in household waste management practices before and after the implementation of the Rocket Stove, examine its impact on household waste management, and evaluate its effectiveness in reducing smoke emissions in Bulang Village, Gending District, Probolinggo Regency. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive analysis model. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Rocket Stove has contributed positively to household waste management. Community members gradually shifted from open burning and river disposal practices to using the Rocket Stove, which provides a more efficient combustion process with lower smoke emissions. In addition, community outreach and hands-on training improved public understanding and encouraged more responsible and environmentally friendly waste management practices. These findings suggest that the Rocket Stove represents an appropriate technology innovation that can support sustainable household waste management in rural communities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze semantic shifts in the vocabulary of Javanese from Malang Regency as depicted in the film Yowis Ben, identify types of meaning changes, and explain the influencing factors. It employs a qualitative descriptive approach, using primary data from spoken utterances and film dialogues, along with secondary data from the Javanese Dictionary and relevant literature. Data collection involved observation and note-taking techniques, followed by analysis through identification, classification, and interpretation of meanings, validated via source triangulation. The findings identify ten vocabulary items undergoing semantic changes, including narrowing, total shift, broadening, and pejoration. This research contributes to understanding the dynamics of semantic change in regional languages in the modern era.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan makna kosakata bahasa Jawa Kabupaten Malang dalam film Yowis Ben, mengidentifikasikan jenis-jenis perubahan makna, serta menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan data primer berupa tuturan lisan dan dialog film, serta data sekunder dari Kamus Bahasa Jawa dan literatur yang relevan. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui metode simak dan teknik catat, kemudian dianalisis melalui tahap identifikasi, klasifikasi, dan interpretasi makna dengan triangulasi sumber untuk validitas data. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi sepuluh kosakata yang mengalami perubahan makna, meliputi penyempitan makna, perubahan total, perluasan makna, dan penurunan makna. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman dinamika perubahan semantik bahasa daerah di era modern.
