Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the deep learning approach in Aswaja An-Nahdliyah learning as an effort to fortify students against contemporary religious issues at SMA Darul Ulum Kepohbaru. The rapid flow of digital information has exposed Generation Z to narratives of radicalism, extremism, and religious hoaxes on social media. This research utilized a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through passive participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, tenth-grade students, and school leaders, as well as documentation studies. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana involving data collection, condensation, display, and conclusion drawing, with trustworthiness verified through triangulation. The results indicate that integrating deep learning through mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning dimensions successfully shifted the learning paradigm from textual memorization (surface learning) to critical reasoning construction. Utilizing Smart TVs to contextually dissect actual religious case studies proved effective in deeply internalizing Aswaja values (Tawassuth, Tawazun, Tasamuh, I’tidal). This internalization formed an ideological fortress and an internal cognitive filter (tabayyun) among tenth-grade students, granting them intellectual resilience against extreme doctrines and religious hoaxes in the digital space.
