Abstract

This study examines indicators of success within the Praboonomics program by assessing how local governance capacity, policy implementation, and public service delivery contribute to the achievement of Indonesia’s national strategic economic objectives. It aims to analyze regional government performance as a critical indicator of Praboonomics effectiveness through a critical–analytical approach. Using quantitative research methods with cluster sampling. The survey involved 1,200 respondents across 38 provinces in Indonesia, yielding an estimated margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level and capturing diverse socio-economic contexts. Analytical techniques include regression modeling and thematic coding to assess measurable development outcomes and institutional dynamics. Empirical studies indicate that community welfare, public service efficiency, and regional economic competitiveness were not statistically significant when compared to food, energy, and water self-sufficiency (β = −0.002; p = 0.869). These results suggest that improvements in these efficiency indicators alone are insufficient to account for the variability in regional self-sufficiency outcomes. Therefore, these findings should be interpreted as evidence that local government efficiency is a crucial contextual factor in policy implementation, but not the sole determinant of Prabowonomics policy success.
