This study aims to examine the relationship between the implementation of Qur’anic verse memorization sanctions and students’ learning motivation and interest at State Senior High School 1 Sinjai. This study employed a quantitative approach using the ex post facto method, which examines relationships among variables based on conditions or experiences that have already occurred without directly administering treatment to the research subjects. The population consisted of students at State Senior High School 1 Sinjai, with the sample determined using a sampling technique appropriate to the characteristics of the population. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and regression analysis to determine the relationship between the implementation of Qur’anic verse memorization sanctions and students’ learning motivation and interest. The results showed that the implementation of Qur’anic verse memorization sanctions was associated with learning motivation, with an R Square value of 46.6%, while its relationship with learning interest yielded an R Square value of 24.4%. These findings indicate that the contribution of sanctions to learning motivation was greater than their contribution to learning interest. Thus, the implementation of Qur’anic verse memorization sanctions was associated with students’ learning motivation and interest, but it was not the dominant factor, as other factors also influenced both variables. This study recommends the use of more educational and persuasive approaches, along with positive reinforcement, to enhance students’ learning motivation and interest.
