Abstract

Introduction: Based on 2023 data from the Health Office, there were 87 active TB cases and 112 TB suspects, with low levels of treatment adherence and limited access to health information. Low levels of knowledge, positive attitudes, and health-seeking behavior are key challenges in TB control. Health education is a crucial intervention that can improve these aspects in both TB patients and TB suspects. With the advancement of digital technology, social media platforms like WhatsApp can be utilized as a flexible, accessible, and sustainable educational tool. Method: The study used a quantitative, quasi-experimental approach using a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The sample size was 40 respondents: 20 TB patients in the intervention group who received education through a WhatsApp group, and 20 TB suspects in the control group without education, using a total sampling technique. Result: Shows a significant influence of education through a WhatsApp Group on increasing health-seeking behavior (p = 0.001). Therefore, WhatsApp Groups can be used as a continuous education medium for TB patients by health workers in the Morosi Community Health Center work area. Conclusion: Healthcare workers need to routinely use WhatsApp Groups as an educational medium for TB patients and suspects, and Community Health Centers need to form digital education teams to manage content and interactions effectively.

Abstract

Introduction: The increasing number of inpatients at Dewi Sartika General Hospital in Kendari City without a corresponding increase in facility capacity and medical personnel has the potential to reduce service quality and patient satisfaction. Good service quality is crucial for improving patient satisfaction, particularly in the Service Quality dimensions of responsiveness and empathy. Method: This study was quantitative with a cross-sectional design, involving 233 inpatients. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-Square test to determine the relationship between variables and logistic regression to determine the dominant factor. Result: The results showed a positive and significant relationship with patient satisfaction. The Chi-Square value showed significance at the α = 0.05 level, with the Phi coefficient varying from a moderate relationship for responsiveness to a strong relationship for empathy. Conclusion: Improving service quality, particularly in terms of empathy and responsiveness, is crucial for enhancing inpatient satisfaction at Dewi Sartika General Hospital. Hospital management is recommended to focus on improving interpersonal services, meeting patient expectations, and enhancing infrastructure and service systems.
