Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the quality items of Multiple Choice and Essay Formative Assessment Questions in Informatics Subjects in terms of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and distinguishing power, (2) create a program form to calculate validity, reliability, level of difficulty and distinguishing power. The research method used is quantitative descriptive technique and documentation technique. The data consists of 36 answer sheets of grade XI students in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The data were analyzed using several formulas for validity, reliability, level of difficulty, distinguishing power and the use of IBM SPSS Statistics 30 software. The results of the study showed that out of 20 questions, there were 12 questions or 60% of multiple choice questions, and 9 questions or 45% of essay questions were declared valid. The reliability of the questions, both multiple choice and essay, is classified as good. The level of difficulty in multiple choice questions is classified as good because it has a balance between the proportion of questions with easy, medium and difficult categories. Meanwhile, for essay questions, it is not good enough because there is no balance between the easy, medium and difficult categories. In the differentiating power of multiple-choice questions in the good category, there are 5 questions or 25%, questions in the sufficient category are 7 questions or 35%, questions in the less good category are 7 questions or 35% and questions in the very bad category are 1 question or 5%. Meanwhile, the differentiating power of essay questions in the very good category is 3 questions or 15%, questions in the good category are 4 questions or 20%, questions in the sufficient category are 4 questions or 20%, questions in the less good category are 7 questions or 35% and questions in the very bad category are 2 questions or 10%.
