Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effects of AB-Mix nutrient concentration, growing media, and their interaction on the growth and yield of pagoda mustard (Brassica narinosa L.) in a wick hydroponic system. The study was conducted from May to July 2025 in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Samudra, using a 3 × 3 factorial completely randomized design. The first factor consisted of AB-Mix concentrations of 1,000, 1,200, and 1,400 ppm, while the second factor consisted of cocopeat, rockwool, and sugarcane bagasse. Nine treatment combinations were evaluated with four replications. Each experimental unit consisted of one reservoir containing six plants, resulting in a total of 216 plants. Data were analyzed using ANOVA at the 5% and 1% significance levels, followed by the 5% Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. AB-Mix concentration had a highly significant effect on plant height but not on the other parameters. The numerically highest plant height (20.40 cm) was obtained at 1,400 ppm, but it was not significantly different from that at 1,000 ppm. Growing media had highly significant effects on leaf number, leaf length at 14 and 21 days after planting (DAP), and plant height. Rockwool produced the highest means for these parameters, including a plant height of 20.97 cm, but had no significant effect on leaf length at 28 DAP, fresh weight, or root length. No significant interaction between AB-Mix concentration and growing media was observed for any parameter.
