Abstract

This study aims to improve independence in children aged 5-6 years through the 7 Habits of Indonesian Golden Children Program (KAIH) at TK Mitreka Jatimakmur Bekasi. Independence is an important aspect of early childhood development that needs to be stimulated from an early age so that children can carry out daily activities without excessive dependence on others. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted in two cycles with 15 children from Group B (aged 5-6 years) as subjects. Data collection instruments included observation and documentation with four aspects of independence observed: physical, social, emotional, and intellectual independence. The results showed a significant improvement in children's independence from the pre-cycle stage (30%) to Cycle I (49%), and further increased to 85% in Cycle II. This improvement covered eight indicators: arriving on time, participating in exercise, eating independently, sharing and cooperating, being enthusiastic in activities, praying independently, completing tasks, and demonstrating independent behavior in routine activities. The 7 KAIH program proved effective because it was implemented through consistent habituation integrated into daily activities. This study recommends the continuous implementation of the 7 KAIH program with support from schools and parents.
