Abstract

Character education based on Islamic values serves as a strategic approach to integrating mastery of the natural sciences with the cultivation of noble character. Schools that adopt an *imtaq* (faith and piety) perspective are characterized by the establishment of a vertical relationship connecting the human to the Divine that defines their educational philosophy. This initiative aimed to encourage teachers to design biology lessons infused with Islamic character, while fostering environmental awareness and social responsibility among students based on Islamic values. The implementation process involved coordination with the school, presentations by resource persons, discussions and surveys with vocational high school (SMK) students, simulations of Islamic-character-based instruction, and an evaluation of the activity via comprehension surveys. Survey results indicated an increase in both teachers' and students' understanding of the importance of integrating Islamic character values into health-focused biology lessons, with participants achieving an average comprehension score of 88.96, classified as "Very Good." The activity successfully enhanced understanding regarding the integration of Islamic character values in biology education, facilitated simulations of Islamic-character-based instruction, and established collaborative networks. It is hoped that this initiative will serve as a model for the sustainable strengthening of religious character.
