Abstract

This research examines learning management in non-formal education at the Integrated Community Training Center (PPMT) Mintin in Pulang Pisau, Central Kalimantan. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study analyzes four functions of learning management: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving four managers/mentoring teachers and two students, the research found that: (1) learning planning is conducted based on identification of individual student needs, enabling program adaptation to specific needs and limited resources; (2) learning organization is implemented through task allocation according to competency, good coordination, and effective and flexible utilization of facilities; (3) learning implementation applies differentiated learning by grouping students based on ability, adapting materials and methods, and providing individual mentoring; and (4) learning evaluation is conducted continuously through observation, quizzes, and monthly exams, with results used as the basis for improving learning. Findings show that learning management that is planned, flexible, and responsive to student needs plays an important role in achieving effective and sustainable learning in a non-formal education environment with limited resources. This research concludes that contextual adaptation of learning management theory, particularly the application of differentiated learning and formative evaluation, is the key to successful implementation of learning management at PPMT Mintin.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate teachers' ability to develop creative and innovative learning tools at Palangka Raya Christian Junior High School. Schools face challenges in developing quality learning tools, such as lack of knowledge about innovative learning strategies, time constraints, and lack of resources. This study focused on seven honorarium teachers who struggled in developing effective learning tools, annual plans, semester programs, and modules due to lack of experience and knowledge. The research aims to address this problem through training in the preparation of creative and innovative learning tools. This service activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. The observation results show that Palangka Raya Christian Junior High School has eleven teachers, four civil servants and seven contract teachers who have qualifications in accordance with their respective competencies. The ratio of teachers and students is balanced, with 63.64% honorarium teachers. The results of this study show that teachers are able to create effective and innovative materials that will ultimately improve the quality of educational programs at Palangka Raya Christian Junior High School. Keywords: creative and innovative; learning communities; learning tools; quality of education; teacher skills Abstrak Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran kreatif dan inovatif di SMP Kristen Palangka Raya. Sekolah menghadapi tantangan dalam mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran yang berkualitas, seperti kurangnya pengetahuan tentang strategi pembelajaran inovatif, keterbatasan waktu, dan kurangnya sumber daya. Studi ini terfokus pada tujuh guru honor yang kesulitan dalam mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran yang efektif, rencana tahunan, program semester, dan modul karena kurangnya pengalaman dan pengetahuan. Maka PkM ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi masalah ini melalui pelatihan penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran kreatif dan inovatif. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR). Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa SMP Kristen Palangka Raya memiliki sebelas guru, empat PNS dan tujuh guru kontrak yang memiliki kualifikasi yang sesuai dengan kompetensi masing-masing. Rasio guru dan siswa seimbang, dengan 63,64% guru honor. Hasil PkM ini menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru mampu menciptakan materi yang efektif dan inovatif yang pada akhirnya akan meningkatkan kualitas program pendidikan di SMP Kristen Palangka Raya.
