Anemia in pregnancy is a condition of the mother with hemoglobin levels < 11 g% in the first and third trimester, or < 10.5 g% in the second trimester. There is an impact on pregnant women with anemia can be the occurrence of pregnancy continuity disorders, and disorders in the fetus. Non-pharmacological methods use boiled pumpkin shoots to increase the HB levels of pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of consumption of pumpkin leaf shoots on increasing Hb levels in pregnant women. This type of research uses Quasy Experimental method with One Group Pre-test Post-test design. The population in this study were all pregnant women who were anemic. The technique used in this research is to use simple random sampling. Then the sample size in this study was 27 people with Hemoglobin levels <11 g/dl. Data analysis using t test. The results showed that the average value of hemoglobin levels in pregnant women before consumption of pumpkin tops was 9.67 g/dL and the average hemoglobin levels in pregnant women after consumption of pumpkin tops was 11.20 g/dL. The difference between the average hemoglobin level in pregnant women before and after consumption of pumpkin leaf shoots is 1.54 gr/dL. The results of the paired sample t test found that the tcount value was 11.895 with a p value = 0.000, where the p value <0.05 which means that Ha is accepted. This means that there is an increase in hemoglobin levels in pregnant women before and after consuming pumpkin tops. These results prove that consumption of pumpkin leaf shoots is proven effective in increasing Hb levels in pregnant women.

Abstract

The golden period starts when the baby is in the womb and is two years old. In this period the brain experiences the fastest development in the history of life, namely up to 80%. Breast milk is the best food at the beginning of life. Exclusive breastfeeding coverage has not been achieved. Several things are the causes, namely: the length of time it takes for breast milk to come out the first time they breastfeed, the perception of the family/community that the reason babies cry after being breastfed is because there is not enough breast milk. Hence, they need to be given formula milk. Objective: This study aims to identify the influence of family-based education on exclusive breastfeeding. Method: The research design used a quasi-experiment, pre-test, and post-test with control group design. Starting with conducting a pre-test on both groups of respondents, then in the intervention group family-based education was carried out (involving the husband/1 other family member) about exclusive breastfeeding in 3 meetings. The third stage carried out a post-test on both groups. The number of respondents was 30 people in each group of 15 breastfeeding mothers. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test. Results: research shows that there is a significant influence between family-based education on exclusive breastfeeding (p-value = 0.028). Naturally, healthy newborn babies can breastfeed, the more often they breastfeed, the more breast milk production will increase so that exclusive breastfeeding is very possible, the knowledge and attitudes of mothers and families need to be improved. It is recommended to implement family-based education to increase the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion: Based on the research results, there is a significant influence between family-based education on exclusive breastfeeding.
