Abstract

The study aims to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the webbed type integrated science E- Module to improve the learning outcomes of students in class VIII of junior high school the subject matter of the human circulatory system. This type of research is Research and Development on the ADDIE model. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII of SMPN 24 Makassar. The results showed that 1) The validity of e-module obtained an average content validity value of 1 which was stated in the valid category, 2) The practicality of E- Module is in the very practical category based on the response of educator with an average of 88.80% and the response of students with an average of 85.96%. 3) Webbed type Integrated Science E- Module in increasing learning motivation in class VIII with an increase in N-Gain shows a percentage of 5% in the low category, so it is said to be ineffective. In improving learning outcomes in class VIII with an increase in N-Gain shows a percentage of 57% with a moderate category, so it is said to be quite effective.

Abstract

This development study aimed to produce an ethnoscience-based E-Module to improve eighth-grade students’ learning outcomes on the topic of Vibrations and Waves at SMP Negeri 6 Sengkang. The research employed the 4-D development model and was tested using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group involving (58 students: 29 experimental class and 29 control class). The study sought to determine: (1) the validity of the ethnoscience-based E-Module, (2) its practicality in classroom use, and (3) its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The results showed that the E-Module achieved a content validity score of 1 (valid category). Its practicality was rated very practical based on educator responses (100%) and student responses (89%). Effectiveness testing yielded an N-Gain score of 0.67, categorized as moderate and indicating that the E-Module is fairly effective in enhancing learning outcomes. Overall, the findings suggest that the ethnoscience-based E-Module is valid, practical, and effective for improving students’ understanding of Vibrations and Waves

Abstract

This study examined prospective science teachers’ teaching skills through peer assessment-based microteaching across two instructional cycles. It addressed the need to systematically develop pedagogical competence in science teacher education. A quantitative descriptive-comparative design involved 18 undergraduate students in a science education program. Teaching performance was assessed using a structured peer observation instrument based on eight basic teaching skills, rated on a 0-5 scale and analyzed through mean score comparison between cycles. The results showed consistent improvement, with the overall mean score increasing from 3,02 (adequate) in Cycle 1 to 4,29 (good) in Cycle 2. The greatest gains were found in explaining skills, classroom management, and teaching small groups and individuals, while questioning skills and guiding small-group discussions improved more moderately. These findings indicate that iterative microteaching practice, peer assessment, and lecturer feedback supported the improvement of teaching skills in prospective teachers. The results highlight the importance of integrating peer assessment with structured instructional support to strengthen observable and procedural teaching skills. However, more complex pedagogical skills still require additional scaffolding and extended practice. This study was limited by its small sample size and descriptive analysis, which may restrict the generalizability of the findings.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) The level of students’ science process skills before and after being taught using PhET simulation media. 2) The improvement of students’ science process skills who were taught using PhET simulation media. 3) Whether there was an effect of the PhET simulation media on the students’ science process skills. This study is classified as a Quasi Experimental study using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study included all VIII grade students at SMPN 18 Makassar. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling. Data were collected through pretests and posttests and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The analysis results show: 1) The average science process skills of students before learning using the PhET simulation media was 24.52, which falls into the low category, while after learning it increased to 69.84, which falls into the high category. 2) There was an increase in science process skills after using the PhET simulation media, with an N-Gain value of 0.59 which falls into the medium category. 3) There was an effect of PhET simulation media on the science process skills of students in class VIII SMPN 18 Makassar.
