Abstract

This study aims to analyze the establishment process, management, as well as the challenges and strengths faced by Amsterdam Institute, a non-formal educational institution founded in 2016 in Makassar, Indonesia. The institution aims to provide high-quality education with international standards by combining modern teaching methods and practical experience. This research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews involving the management and teaching staff of Amsterdam Institute. The findings indicate that although the institution faces various challenges, such as intense competition and a limited number of competent instructors, Amsterdam Institute has managed to overcome these obstacles with a well-thought-out strategy, including the use of technology in learning, regular training for instructors, and strategic location selection. Furthermore, the institution's success is also driven by its commitment to providing facilities that support comfortable and effective learning. While the government's role in the management of Amsterdam Institute is limited to administrative aspects, the support from the government in terms of licensing and non-formal education training has contributed to the sustainability of the institution. This study described a new perspective in integrating technology with the quality management strategies in a learning center based on Indonesian informal education context.

Abstract

Analysis of the implementation of non-formal education management at the Al-Qur'an Education Park Baitul Mu'minin Makassar aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the education program being held. Non-formal education has an important role in improving public understanding of religious teachings, especially among children. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving interviews, observations, and document analysis which show that education management at the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) Baitul Mu'minin includes structured planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. The results of the study indicate that the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) Baitul Mu'minin Makassar has a program plan that includes an adaptive curriculum that is relevant to the needs of students. Organization is carried out through a clear division of tasks between teachers and managers. The implementation of learning is characterized by varied methods, so that it can attract students' interest. However, there are several challenges in its implementation, such as the lack of trained human resources and limited facilities. Program evaluation is conducted routinely to measure the achievement of educational goals, but still requires improvement in terms of follow-up of evaluation results. Overall, the management of non-formal education at the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) Baitul Mu'minin Makassar shows good potential, but there needs to be improvement in aspects of teacher training and provision of facilities and infrastructure to support a more effective teaching and learning process. This study contributes to the Development of TPA Management Model based on community involvement and continous evaluation system
