Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of human resource management on the work ethic of employees at SMP Al-Qur'an dan Dakwah Alam Kombeng. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The study population consisted of all employees of SMP Al-Qur'an dan Dakwah Alam Kombeng, with a sample of 12 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires as the primary instrument, supported by observation and documentation. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression to determine the effect of human resource management on employees' work ethic. The results revealed a very strong relationship between human resource management and employees' work ethic, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.963 and a regression equation of Y = -0.015 + 0.970X. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 92.8%, indicating that human resource management contributed 92.8% to employees' work ethic, while the remaining 7.2% was influenced by other factors, including leadership style, work environment, compensation, organizational culture, work motivation, and job satisfaction. These findings indicate that human resource management has a positive and significant effect on employees' work ethic. Therefore, the school management is recommended to continuously improve human resource management practices to maintain and enhance employees' work ethic

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of Production Unit facilities in the Office Management and Business Services (MPLB) Department on the work readiness of twelfth-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sangatta Utara. A quantitative field research design was employed involving all 68 Grade XII MPLB students using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings reveal that Production Unit facilities do not have a statistically significant effect on students' work readiness (β = 0.015; p = 0.919 > 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.000) indicates that the facilities contribute only 0.02% to work readiness, while the remaining 99.98% is explained by other factors, including industrial work practice (PKL), learning motivation, technical competence, soft skills, family support, and other external variables. These findings suggest that adequate educational facilities alone are insufficient to enhance vocational students' work readiness without meaningful practical experience and systematic development of employability skills. The study contributes to vocational education management by emphasizing that improving work readiness requires an integrated approach combining infrastructure, authentic workplace learning, industry collaboration, and soft-skill development. Future research is recommended to incorporate broader internal and external determinants of work readiness using more comprehensive analytical models
