Abstract

analytes during sample storage. Samples are usually stored in the refrigerator (4 - 8°C) for short periods or in the freezer (-20°C) for longer periods. One of the reasons for the decrease in the stability of lyophilized universal control serum is the presence of a non-standard freezer in the laboratory, with an ideal temperature of -15°C. This study aimed to determine the effect of storing pooled sera as a substitute for commercial control materials which were stored in the freezer at around -15°C and in the refrigerator at around 4°C for 1 month with the test parameter, namely cholesterol. This study used an observational method without any treatment of the research variables. The samples in this study were pooled sera which were stored in the freezer and refrigerator at 0 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and 4 weeks based on the parameters for measuring cholesterol levels. The results showed that the average cholesterol level from Pooled Sera stored in the freezer was 157.75 mg/dL with a CV value of 3.0, and the average cholesterol level stored in the refrigerator was 152.75 mg/dL with a CV value of 2.1. The permissible CV value for cholesterol content is 6%, so that it can be concluded that the storage of pooled sera in the freezer and refrigerator on cholesterol parameters is still stable at 1 month of storage

Abstract

Head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) are parasites that live on the scalp and hair of humans by sucking blood from the human scalp. The transmission of head lice can occur from sharing accessories and not maintaining personal hygiene. Islamic boarding schools are places where several people gather to live in the same location, allowing for the shared use of items, which contributes to the spread of head lice infestation. The aim of this study is to understand the profile of head lice infestation among students living in the boarding school. The method of this study is descriptive, with a sample size of 19 students taken using total sampling technique. The results of this study found one egg that had hatched, and no nymphs or adult lice were found. The conclusion of this study is that 94,7% (18) of the students at Raudhatul Jannah boarding school in Palangka Raya do not have head lice. not infected with head lice, meanwhile 5.3%. (1) student uninfected with head lice
