Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in student learning outcomes after the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) models based on Islamic Ecotheological values in the subject of Moral Faith and Adab to the Environment at MIN 2 Bandar Lampung. The research uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods and nonequivalent control group design. The research sample amounted to 109 students in class VI consisting of 37 students in the Islamic Ecotheology-based PBL group, 36 students in CTL, and 36 students in the control group. Data was obtained through learning outcome tests in the form of 20 multiple-choice questions that had met the validity and reliability tests. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene homogeneity test, Paired Samples t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Post Hoc Tukey HSD. The results showed that the three groups experienced an improvement in learning outcomes. One-Way ANOVA showed a significant difference in the average posttest between groups, and Tukey HSD showed significant differences in each group pair. Descriptively, the PBL group obtained a higher average posttest than the CTL and control groups. The findings showed that there was a difference in learning outcomes between groups, but the improvement could not be fully attributed to the learning model because the class had been formed before and the control group also improved. The specific contribution of Islamic Ecotheological values also cannot be separated from the influence of the learning model. Further research can strengthen the control of early abilities as well as measure affective aspects and ecological behavior.
