Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformational leadership strategies employed by the principal to foster learning innovation in the Society 5.0 era at SDN Beringin 477 Surabaya, covering strategy formulation, implementation, challenges, and evaluation. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive single-case study design. Data were collected from five informants through interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of (Miles dkk., 2014) and was interpreted using (Leithwood dkk., 2004) three leadership dimensions: setting directions, developing people, and redesigning the organization. Data trustworthiness was ensured through source and technique triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that learning innovations were formulated based on students’ needs, teacher readiness, available facilities, and learning objectives. Implementation was supported by guidance, Teacher Working Group (KKG) training, and peer assistance in using Interactive Digital Boards (PID). Challenges included limited technological competencies, devices, internet connectivity, funding, and time, which were addressed through mentoring and alternative media. Evaluation involved academic supervision and classroom assessment. The novelty lies in applying Leithwood’s dimensions to analyze transformational leadership strategies in an elementary school context.
