Abstract

Gampong Nusa, Aceh Besar Regency, has tourism potential rooted in local wisdom, including culture, traditions, culinary practices, handicrafts, the environment, traditional architecture, and community activities. However, its development still requires strengthening community capacity, tourism product management, promotion, supporting facilities, and disaster mitigation. This community service activity aimed to disseminate research findings and assist the community in developing a sustainable tourism village based on local wisdom. The activity was conducted through a participatory approach involving potential identification, dissemination of research findings, community discussions, and the formulation of development directions. The assistance covered Community-Based Tourism (CBT), tourism attractions and packages, homestay improvement, environmental management, digital promotion, cultural preservation, and disaster mitigation. The results showed that local potential can be developed into community-based homestays, culinary tourism and cooking classes, agricultural tourism, traditional games, recycled crafts, cultural activities, and disaster education. The activity also produced recommendations for strengthening the LPN institution, improving human resource capacity, digital promotion, supporting facilities, and integrating tsunami mitigation into destination management. Overall, the activity demonstrates the potential for research findings to be translated into practical assistance that supports participatory and sustainable tourism development while preserving local identity.
