Abstract

Abstract This study aims to design a user interface (UI) for the SIPANDU website at Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of Sukabumi Regency in order to improve efficiency in monitoring statistical documents. The current problem lies in the use of a Google Spreadsheet-based system, which still has limitations in terms of data visualization, security, and real-time monitoring. The method applied in this study is Design Thinking, which consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The resulting design was then evaluated using the Heuristic Evaluation method based on Nielsen’s ten heuristic principles to identify usability issues. The evaluation results indicate that there are 8 usability problems, mostly related to Aesthetic and Minimalist Design and Help Users Recognize, Diagnose, and Recover from Errors. The obtained severity rating falls into the cosmetic problem category, meaning that the issues do not affect the main functionality of the system but still require improvement. Overall, the designed interface is considered well-structured, user-friendly, and capable of supporting users in managing and monitoring data more effectively in real-time. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing user-centered web-based systems in government institutions.
