Water is an essential basic need for human survival. Without water, humans cannot survive. Regional Drinking Water Companies (PDAMs) play an important role in meeting the continuously increasing demand for drinking water. Various challenges may arise during the drinking water production process, including declines in the quality of treated water and water supplied to consumers, equipment failures, and other factors. Drinking water providers must ensure that the water they produce is safe for human health in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 concerning Drinking Water Quality Requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to assess the quality of treated water and consumer water supplied by Perumda Tirta Mayang in Jambi City. This study aimed to compare the quality of treated water and consumer water supplied by Perumda Tirta Mayang in Jambi City. The method used was observational testing of treated water and consumer water based on four parameters: pH, residual chlorine, turbidity, and iron (Fe) concentration. Three factors that may affect consumer water quality were also examined: distance, pipe type, and pipe age. The results showed that the water quality complied with the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 concerning Drinking Water Quality Requirements. Distance, pipe type, and pipe age also influenced the resulting consumer water quality. Both pH and residual chlorine decreased as the distance increased. The older the pipes, the higher the turbidity and iron (Fe) concentration. Based on the test results, the pipe types affecting consumer water quality in terms of turbidity and iron (Fe) were polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and ductile cast iron pipe (DCIP).Keywords: Consumed water, Produced Water, Water Quality, Water Treatment Plant
