Abstract

The Effect of Landslide Mitigation Education on Increasing Students' Knowledge Indonesia is a country that is vulnerable to various natural disasters, including hydrometeorological disasters such as landslides, which often cause environmental, social, and economic losses, especially in mountainous areas with high rainfall. Therefore, disaster mitigation education is important to improve community preparedness, including among elementary school students. One effort that can be implemented is the use of innovative learning media such as animated videos that present material in an audio-visual form, making it more interesting and easier for students to understand. This study aims to determine the effect of using animated video media on increasing the knowledge of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Sukawana regarding landslide disaster mitigation. The study used a quantitative approach with a pretest and posttest method. The results of the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test showed a significance value of 0.000, indicating that the data were not normally distributed; therefore, the analysis was continued using the Wilcoxon test. The Wilcoxon test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Thus, animated video media has proven to be effective in improving students' knowledge.
