Abstract

Public speaking skills represent a crucial competence for university students in the era of information disruption, enabling them to convey ideas logically, critically, and persuasively. This study aims to analyze the application of rhetorical techniques in improving argumentative presentation skills among students at Universitas Tangerang Raya (UNTARA). Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, this article examines the integration of Aristotle's rhetorical triangle—Ethos (credibility), Pathos (emotion), and Logos (logic)—as well as practical techniques such as the rule of three and repetition within students' academic activities. The findings indicate that a comprehensive understanding of rhetorical theory, combined with structured practice in student organizations, successfully reduces psychological barriers (glossophobia) and enhances the quality of students' argumentative reasoning. Furthermore, the PREP (Point, Reason, Example, Point) argumentation model is proposed as a tactical framework for developing a systematic speech structure. This study concludes that strengthening rhetorical literacy needs to be massively integrated into the curriculum and the student ecosystem within UNTARA to produce articulative and competitive graduates.
