Abstract

Water level monitoring in water tank systems plays an important role in ensuring a reliable water supply and preventing overflow or dry-run conditions. Float sensors are widely used in water tank applications due to their simple structure, low cost, and ease of implementation. This study aims to evaluate and compare the accuracy, sensitivity, and stability of different float sensor configurations applied in a water tank monitoring system. The experiments were conducted under controlled water level conditions to ensure consistent and repeatable measurements. Several float sensor configurations were tested and their performance characteristics were analyzed based on the measured activation level and data variability. The experimental results indicate that sensor design has a significant influence on measurement accuracy, sensitivity to water level changes, and operational stability. Sensors with higher sensitivity tend to provide faster response and better accuracy, while improved mechanical construction contributes to more stable and consistent measurements over repeated tests. The results also show that mechanical characteristics play an important role in reducing measurement fluctuations caused by water surface disturbances. Therefore, the selection of float sensors with high sensitivity and stable mechanical performance is essential to achieve reliable and optimal water level monitoring in water tank systems.
