Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses metakognisi yang dilakukan oleh siswa dalam memahami konsep Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel ditinjau dari kemampuan awal siswa. Proses metakognisi dalam penelitian ini yaitu suatu pengetahuan tentang kognisi siswa yang melibatkan kesadaran dan pengaturan berpikirnya dalam hal merencanakan (planning) kegiatan berpikirnya, memantau (monitoring) proses berpikirnya dan mengevaluasi (evaluation) hasil berpikirnya. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 3 orang siswa yang terdiri dari Subjek Kategori Tinggi (SKT), Subjek Kategori Sedang (SKS), dan Subjek Kategori Rendah (SKR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proses metakognisi SKT meliputi merencanakan (planning) kegiatan berpikirnya, memantau (monitoring) proses berpikirnya dan mengevaluasi (evaluation) hasil berpikirnya. Proses metakognisi SKS meliputi merencanakan (planning) kegiatan berpikirnya, sedikit memantau (monitoring) proses berpikirnya dan mengevaluasi (evaluation) hasil berpikirnya. Proses metakognisi SKR meliputi merencanakan (planning) kegiatan berpikirnya dan memantau (monitoring) proses berpikirnya.Kata Kunci: Metakognisi dan Pemahaman KonsepAbstract: This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to analyze the process of metacognition carried out by students in understanding the concept of a Two Variable Linear Equation System in terms of students' initial abilities. The process of metacognition in this study is a series of metacognitive activities carried out by students in applying the concept to problem solving. Metacognition activities are activities carried out by a person related to their awareness and cognition in solving problems which include planning, monitoring, and evaluation of their cognition. The subjects of this study were 3 students consisting of High Category Subjects, Medium Category Subjects, and Low Category Subjects. The results of the study show that high category subjects involve metacognition activities in all stages of conceptual application to problem solving. Medium category subjects do not involve metacognitive activities in all stages of the application of concepts to problem solving. Low Category Subjects do not involve metacognitive activities in all stages of the application of concepts to problem solving.Keywords: Metacognition and Concept Understanding
