Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension has increased throughout the year. Hypertension spreads widely because of the lack of knowledge and a healthy lifestyle. People's lifestyle which is more practical has an impact on the implementation of inappropriate hypertension diets and triggers various diseases. Based on this phenomenon, it is necessary to increase public knowledge about hypertension diets. The purpose of this activity was to provide counseling about a low-salt diet as an effort to increase knowledge of hypertension patients. The method was done by giving counseling about low salt diet through lectures to 30 hypertension patients who were routinely monitored at the Panti Rahayu Clinic. The pre test showed that almost all of the hypertension patients (80%) were in the poor category of knowledge. The post test showed that after being given counseling the knowledge of hypertension patients increased almost half (46%) were in the good category. Knowledge of hypertension patients increased after getting information through counseling activities about a low salt diet. Suggestions for clinics are expected to hold regular and periodic health education or promotion programs to provide information so as to increase the knowledge of hypertension patients

Abstract

Patients of chronic kidney disease require long-term hemodialysis therapy. However, this therapy has various complications, one of which is pruritus. Pruritus can interfere with individual activities, cause sleep disturbances, lesions and hyperpigmentation on the skin, to impact the patient's quality of life. So that non-pharmacological management is needed to treat pruritus. The design was cross sectional. The population in this community service was chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy in the hemodialysis room. The sample was patients who experience pruritus and undergo hemodialysis therapy at least 1x / week as many as 45 people. The variables were health education related to non-pharmacological management and pruritus. The instruments used leaflets and counseling program units for health education, while for pruritus used the Numeric Rating Scale. The average patient experienced pruritus on a scale of 5, which was a moderate category where itching was felt by frequent scratching. After health education, patients understand how to deal with pruritus with non-pharmacological methods so that the patient's quality of life becomes better

Abstract

One way to break the chain of spread of Covid-19 is through the InaRISK application. Knowledge of nursing students about this application is still low. BNPB entered Covid-19 into the InaRISK application at April 2020. Its function is to find out how the state of the area around us, whether it is included in the yellow, red or green zone. In addition, the community can conduct an independent assessment regarding the need or not to conduct a rapid test through the InaRISK application. The purpose of this activity was to provide counseling about InaRISK Personal application and measure the risk of Covid-19 of students. The method used by giving counselling about InaRISK Personal application through lectures to 36 students at Faculty of Health Sciences. The results of the self-assessment showed based on the statement of potential for infection outside the home, most participants (88.9%) touched objects/money that were also touched by other people. Based on the statement of potential for infection in the house, most participants (86.1%) did not install hand sanitizer in front of the entrance, to clean their hands before holding the handle (handle at the house entrance). Based on the statement of endurance (immunity) all participants (100%) were under 60 years old and almost all participants (94.4%) did not have diseases: heart/diabetes/chronic respiratory disorders. The risk of participants being exposed to Covid-19 were based on the InaRISK Personal application, almost half of participants (44.4%) were in the low-risk category. Based on the measurement results, it could be concluded that the potential risk of Covid-19 transmission using the InaRISK Personal self-assessment on students had a low risk of 44.4%. The campus is expected to hold counseling programs or health promotions on a regular basis to provide information so that it can increase student knowledge.

Abstract

Earthquakes are one of the natural disasters that frequently occur in Indonesia and claim many lives. Kediri City is an earthquake-prone area because it is home to one of the active volcanoes, Kelud Mountain. Children are among the vulnerable groups most at risk of being affected by disasters. Preparedness is important to be provided early to provide understanding and guidance on the appropriate steps to take when a threat occurs to reduce disaster risk. This community service activity aimed to determine the effect of simulation on earthquake disaster preparedness among students of SDN Pojok 2, Kediri City. The method used a pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design. The samples were taken using cluster random sampling and the sample size used was 46 students. The preparedness data were collected using a questionnaire. The data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The results of the activity showed that the level of preparedness before the disaster simulation was almost entirely low (80.5%), the level of preparedness after the disaster simulation was almost entirely high (86.9%), and there was an effect of simulation on earthquake disaster preparedness among students of SDN Pojok 2, Kediri City (ρ = 0.000). Preparedness simulations have significantly improved elementary school students' disaster preparedness. Therefore, it is hoped that disaster management simulations can be implemented in all schools in Kediri City, with training provided to elementary school teachers.
