Abstrak Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterampilan menulis cerita pada siswa kelas II SDN Ketintang 4 Surabaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan keterampilan menulis cerita menggunakan media wayang kreasi, hasil belajar siswa dalam keterampilan menulis cerita menggunakan wayang kreasi, serta kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru dan siswa selama proses pembelajaran menulis cerita dengan menggunakan wayang kreasi. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan desain penelitian tindakan kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada siklus I dan II mencapai 100%. Hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus I sebesar 72,2% dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II sebesar 97,2%. Kendala yang ditemui pada siklus I yaitu siswa belum maksimal dalam kegiatan menceritakan kembali sesuai teks, guru tidak mengulas kembali karakter wayang di akhir pembelajaran, serta siswa belum maksimal dalam membuat kesimpulan pembelajaran menggunakan bahasa mereka sendiri. Siklus II seluruh kendala yang ditemui pada siklus I dapat diatasi dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa media wayang kreasi dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerita siswa kelas II SDN Ketintang 4 Surabaya. Berdasarkan penelitian, disarankan media wayang kreasi dapat digunakan di keterampilan menulis cerita siswa kelas II SDN Ketintang 4 Surabaya. Kata Kunci: wayang kreasi, media menulis cerita. Abstract The background of this research was the lack of second grade student’s story writing skills in state elementary school Ketintang 4 Surabaya. The aim of this research are describes the implementation of student’s story writing, the score of student’s story writing, and also the obstacles that were faced during the process story writing by use creations puppets. This research design was classroom action research. The result of this research showed that learning implementation in the first cycle reached 100%. The student’s score showed the learning thoroughness in the first cycle was 72,2% and increased in the second cycle up to 97,2%. The obstacles that were faced in the first cycle in the story telling incording to the text activity are student’s were not maximal, the teacher was not to reviewed the character of the puppets in the last of learning, and the student’s were not maximal in make conclusions of the learning activity. In the second cycle, the whole obstacles that were faced is manage well. Based on those result, it conclude that by use the creations puppets media increased the story writing skills of second grade student’s of state elementary school Ketintang 4 Surabaya. Therefore, it is suggested the creations puppets media should be used in story writing of second grade of state elementary school Ketintang 4 Surabaya.
