Abstract

The purpose of the study is to know the effectiveness of Speed Reading Technique in improving the Reading Comprehension of the Fourth Semester students of English Department of STKIP PGRI Bangkalan. This study used Quantitative research. The result of reading speed was the experimental group higher than control group using posttest. The conclusion is the English Department students of STKIP PGRI Bangkalan could use Speed Reading Technique in improving reading comprehension.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the study on the GI (Group Investigation) toward teacher to reduce students’ anxiety in speaking skill. The research design of the study was qualitative which focus on descriptive qualitative research. It involved the Vocational school students as the participants. The data were obtained through the observation during the teaching and learning process and an interview with the teachers. In this study, the researcher accomplished several steps to analyze the data, namely reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusion. The first research finding revealed that Group Investigation was used by the teacher and the students in the class and out of the class. The teacher utilized Group Investigation to reduce students’ anxiety in speaking skill toward teachers’ response. Meanwhile, the students used Group Investigation model to give corrections and suggestions on their friends’ speaking in pairs or groups. The second findings revealed that the students gave positive responses toward the use of Group Investigation on speaking. The students said that Group Investigation is a practical model, develop students’ speaking skill, and interesting medium which make student enthusiastic. It also developed the students speaking ability, and able to motivated the students in speaking.

Abstract

Abstract People of Nangkek in East Gili, Madura, have a very simple life with livelihoods as builders, porters, seasonal farmers and unemployee. Daily necessities such as vegetables are obtained by planting plants in the front or back of the house such as chillies, spinach, and Moringa trees. To satisfy needs of vegetables, they pick, for example, vegetables from Moringa leaves. It is commonly understood that Moringa leaves are very good for our bodies and brings many benefits for our healthiness. Proposers through Community Service provide training on Moringa leaves becoming a Moringa dye for body health. This activity aims to develop entrepreneurship of each household to support the development of the creative economy. The results of these activities include: 1) increasing the entrepreneurship spirit of each head of household in an effort to support the community development activities; 2) the entrepreneurial community has business planning capabilities; 3) increasing the ability of the entrepreneurial community in conducting business operations. The method used is training, assistance and evaluation that is carried out during the community service program until the partners are able to develop the business well. It is finally concluded that as the partner (homemade), they will be creative and productive for their family’s income. Keywords: Utilization, Moringa leaf packaging, Health Abstrak Masyarakat Nangkek di Gili Timur, Madura, memiliki kehidupan yang sangat sederhana dengan mata pencaharian sebagai kuli bangunan, kuli angkut, petani musiman, dan pengangguran. Kebutuhan sehari-hari seperti sayuran diperoleh dengan menanam tanaman di bagian depan atau belakang rumah seperti cabe, bayam, dan pohon kelor. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sayuran, mereka memilih, misalnya, sayuran dari daun kelor. Secara umum dipahami bahwa daun kelor sangat baik untuk tubuh dan membawa banyak manfaat bagi kesehatan kita. Pengusul melalui program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat memberikan pelatihan tentang daun kelor menjadi minuman kelor celup untuk kesehatan tubuh. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kewirausahaan setiap rumah tangga untuk mendukung pengembangan ekonomi kreatif. Hasil dari kegiatan ini meliputi: 1) meningkatkan semangat kewirausahaan setiap kepala rumah tangga dalam upaya mendukung kegiatan pengembangan masyarakat; 2) komunitas wirausaha memiliki kemampuan perencanaan bisnis; 3) meningkatkan kemampuan komunitas wirausaha dalam melakukan operasi bisnis. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan, pendampingan dan evaluasi yang dilakukan selama program pengabdian masyarakat sampai para mitra mampu mengembangkan bisnis dengan baik. Akhirnya disimpulkan bahwa sebagai mitra, mereka akan kreatif dan produktif untuk pendapatan keluarga mereka. Kata kunci: Pemanfaatan, Pengemasan daun kelor, Kesehatan

Abstract

The insufficient vocabulary of students often leads to their reluctance in applying English language skills. To address this issue and encourage active usage of English, it is crucial to focus on vocabulary development through effective learning practices. In this context, the researcher sought a solution to enhance writing skills and promote a deeper understanding of word meanings. The chosen approach involved incorporating an engaging and enjoyable medium, namely the Puzzle game, as a means of facilitating vocabulary growth. The Puzzle game, specifically the Word Search Puzzle, was selected as it not only serves as a game but also captures students' interest by sparking curiosity about hidden words. In a Word Search Puzzle game, players search for concealed words in provided boxes, guided by word clues. These words may be arranged vertically, horizontally, or diagonally within the grid. The study involves a sample of 20 students selected from the entire population. Utilizing SPSS 22 for calculations, the results indicate statistical significance, leading to the conclusion that the Word Search Puzzle game is effective in enhancing vocabulary. This finding underscores the proven efficacy of the Word Search Puzzle game as a learning medium, demonstrating its capacity to augment students' vocabularies. Consequently, teachers can consider integrating this method into their teaching practices to facilitate effective vocabulary instruction.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah mengubah cara masyarakat berinteraksi dan mencari informasi, termasuk dalam bidang pariwisata. Pemanfaatan digitalisasi dan promosi menjadi kunci penting bagi pengembangan potensi pariwisata, terutama di daerah pedesaan. Hal tersebut sangat sejalan diterapkan pada wisata Bukit Anjhir di Desa Kemuning yang belum banyak terjangkau dan diketahui oleh masyarakat luas. Digitalisasi di era sekarang akan sangat membantu dalam promosi dan penyebaran informasi secara pesat dengan cara yang sederhana. Berdasarkan observasi yang kami lakukan saat pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM, potensi yang terlihat dari Desa Kemuning ini adalah dengan pengembangan Wisata Bukit Anjhir. Program ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan digitalisasi dan promosi Bukit Anjhir di Desa Kemuning, Kecamatan Tragah, Kabupaten Bangkalan Promosi digital ini salah satunya bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat khususnya para pemuda sekitar tentang potensi wisata Bukit Anjhir dan menarik minat wisatawan. Namun, terdapat beberapa tantangan seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur yang belum terkelola dengan baik dan kurangnya pemahaman masyarakat tentang pemasaran digital. Dengan demikian perlu adanya upaya tindak lanjut untuk mengatasi tantangan dan meningkatkan efektivitas promosi digital agar dapat memberikan kontribusi yang lebih besar terhadap perekonomian lokal dan kesejahteraan masyarakat Desa Kemuning. Hal ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi pihak terkait khususnya pemerintah kota Bangkalan agar bisa lebih gencar melakukan pengembangan pada Wisata Bukit Anjhir ini yang memiliki potensi besar bagi warga sekitar dan kota Bangkalan.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of Webtoon as a learning medium to improve reading skills and vocabulary development of students in grade XI at SMAN 3 Bangkalan. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through classroom observations, student interviews, and documentation analysis. Findings indicate that Webtoon significantly increased students’ engagement, motivation, and comprehension compared to traditional textbooks. The combination of visual storytelling and contextual learning helped students better understand the text and acquire new vocabulary. Interview results showed that students often found and actively searched for the meaning of new words, which strengthened their language skills. Teachers acknowledged the advantages of Webtoon but highlighted challenges such as the use of slang and maintaining student focus. Despite these obstacles, Webtoon remains a valuable tool for improving literacy. This study concludes that Webtoon is an innovative and engaging medium for improving reading skills, and future research should explore strategies to optimize its use in education

Abstract

Setelah minyak jelanta habis dipakai di buang dianggap tidak layak pakai atau kita sebut limbah. Minyak jelantah,adalah limbah rumah tangga yang sering kali dianggap tidak berguna dan berbahaya bagi lingkungan jika dibuang sembarangan. Isu Masalah Pencemaran lingkungan merupakan masalah kita bersama untuk diselesaikan karena menyangkut keselamatan, kesehatan dan kelangsungan kehidupan. Tujuan dalam PKM yang kami lakukan adalah: 1. meminimalisir dampak negatif terhadap alam dengan satu strategi yang dapat diterapkan adalah diversifikasi produk ramah lingkungan, 2. memanfaatkan peluang bisnis yang inovatif, 3. peningkatan nilai ekonomi dari produk-produk yang dihasilkan. Metode pelatihan merupakan upaya mendidik dan melatih agar mampu memahami program yang dilakukan. Proses pendampingan dan evaluasi dilakukan selama program PKM berlangsung dan peserta mampu dalam melaksanakan dan memanfaatkan limbah minyak jelata dengan baikHasil yang dicapai dalam kegiatan PKM adalah 1). Pemanfaatan limbah minyak jelanta dapat di manfaatkan serta mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan, 2) Menghasilkan produk dari limbah minyak jelanta merupakan bahan utama pembuatan lilin beraroma terapi, 3) Limbah minyak jelanta dianggap tidak memiliki nilai ekonomi tetapi dapat membantu perekonomian kepada masyarakat khususnya home industry rumahan untuk bisa mengambil peluang dari hasil produk diatas, Program ini berhasil memanfaatkan minyak jelantah sebagai bahan baku untuk produksi lilin aromaterapi dan juga meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pengelolaan limbah lingkungan. Melalui pemanfaatan sumber daya yang ada, program ini tidak hanya memberikan solusi masalah limbah minyak jelantah tetapi menciptakan nilai tambah yang bermanfaat bagi home industry rumahan dan masyarakat sekitarnya.

Abstract

Ombul is the name of village which is located in the Arosbaya- Bangkalan Madura sub-district. The people in the village of Ombul have a livelihood by farming, traders, porters and overseas migrants (TKI). Community awareness about children's education is very lacking, this is due to the lack of information on technology from outside which is very minimal. The lack of motivation that exists in every family is very influential, especially the family environment and the surrounding community. Therefore, we, as PKM proponents, are planning a work program, namely Tutoring and Reading Cottages which synergize with the village administration and nearby schools to help people who have children to become students to participate in the program. With this work program, it is hoped that the village community will be able to better understand and increase self-awareness of the importance of education. The results achieved are: 1) increasing the ability to learn a material according to the level of education; 2) have the ability to read a sentence and 3) assistance is still needed so that it can develop and be followed up by partners with the closest school
