Abstract

Kata kunci: Akhlak, Ideologi, Islam, Keadilan, Semiotika AbstractThis study analyzed the short story titled Red Nets as a discourse constructed by the author of the story, Helvy Tiana Rosa. The purpose of this study is to determine the signs used Helvy Tiana Rosa in representing the message of Islamic ideology in the short story. Researchers use interpretive methods with qualitative approach and semiotics analysis tools from Roland Barthes. The results showed that the text found several signs used to represent the ideology of Islam. Islamic ideology that dominates this short story represents about justice, morality of Muslim women, and the brotherhood of Muslims. In addition, there is a fundamentalist perspective - to distinguish it from liberalism - underpinned by two important social events, namely the collapse of the New Order government and the abrogation of the status of Aceh as a Military Operation Area (DOM). Both events encouraged Helvy Tiana Rosa as the author, bringing counter discourse to the hegemony of discourse at that time. Thus, the message highlighted has a tendency and pattern that stands for the oppressed.Keyword: Akhlak, Ideology, Islam, Justice, Semiotics

Abstract

The "War Takjil" phenomenon, a viral trend during the Ramadan month in Indonesia, has become a powerful symbol of interfaith cooperation and tolerance, particularly among younger generations. This study investigates the role of TikTok in fostering religious tolerance during Ramadan 2024 by analyzing viral "War Takjil" content that promotes inclusivity and humor among different religious communities. Adopting a qualitative research approach, this study uses virtual ethnography to analyze TikTok videos and audience interactions, exploring how these videos communicate messages of unity and coexistence. Findings reveal that TikTok videos focusing on cross-religious participation in "War Takjil" use humor and shared traditions to break down barriers and create spaces for respectful dialogue. This study argues that TikTok, with its interactive and engaging format, is an effective platform for promoting religious tolerance, offering new insights into how digital media can foster social change and cultural understanding.

Abstract

This study examines the role of broadcasting institutions in preserving local culture in the era of digital media convergence, using a comparative analysis of SMTV Sumedang and Radio Barani Bandung in West Java. The background of this research stems from the declining visibility of regional arts, languages, and traditions amid the dominance of popular content, while local media must remain technologically adaptable and institutionally resilient. Local broadcasting institutions occupy a strategic position because they function not only as information channels but also as custodians of community cultural identity. This research analyzes the institutional orientations, broadcast program strategies, human resource management practices, and digital adaptation strategies of the two institutions. The findings identify two distinct models of cultural preservation. Radio Barani represents a community-idealism model that emphasizes cultural authenticity through traditional broadcasting and community-driven live streaming, whereas SMTV reflects an industry-adaptive model characterized by professional management and cross-platform distribution of short-form digital content. The study shows how these two types of broadcasting institutions negotiate the tension between cultural preservation and the demands of media convergence within different institutional contexts. Theoretically, this study contributes to communication and broadcasting scholarship by proposing a comparative dual-model framework of local cultural preservation in convergent media environments. The findings highlight that community-based and industry-based broadcasters develop divergent yet complementary strategies to sustain local cultural identity in the digital era.
