Abstract

Technology is very important in today's life, especially in the health system. Many medical equipment has been discovered that has a digital system, the aim of which is to make the work of doctors and nurses easier in treating patients. The world is currently faced with the problem of viruses that attack human health. The preventive solution that can be done as early as possible is to wear a mask, keep your distance, and maintain your health and wash your hands frequently. This is done so that bacteria and viruses are not transmitted from one person to another. Communication using WhatsApp is still not supported video conferencing for a participant capacity of up to hundreds of people, therefore we provide socialization on the use of video conferencing via internet-based applications. Thus, the Battuta University service team felt the need to conduct outreach in using more interactive applications to support long-distance communication for Hasanuddin Elementary School teachers. The results of community service achieved are that Hasanuddin Elementary School teachers are able to apply all applications that support holding open and closed meetings given the distance between teachers. It is hoped that the results of this counseling can support communication activities that are not limited in number or regional conditions.

Abstract

This study explores the psychological impact of isolation and alienation as experienced by the protagonist, Kya Clark, in Delia Owens’ Where the Crawdads Sing. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research applies Erik Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development and the literary concepts outlined in Akhmedov’s Introduction to Literary Theory (2020). The analysis reveals how Kya’s prolonged isolation profoundly influences her identity formation, emotional resilience, and ability to establish trust and intimacy. By examining Kya’s journey through Erikson’s psychosocial stages—especially Trust vs. Mistrust, Identity vs. Role Confusion, and Intimacy vs. Isolation—this study identifies the psychological struggles and eventual growth of a girl forced into solitude by abandonment and social prejudice. The findings show that isolation, while a source of deep psychological trauma, also becomes a catalyst for Kya’s self-reliance, creativity, and emotional maturity. Nature functions as her symbolic mother and therapeutic space, providing the security and acceptance denied by human society. Owens’ novel illustrates how alienation can produce both emotional fragility and inner strength, showing the resilience of the human spirit amid social rejection and personal loss.

Abstract

The title of this research is “Narrative Transportation and Propaganda Language on Nike’s YouTube Channel: a Discourse Analysis.” This research aims to analyzed narrative transportation, propaganda language, and cohesion-coherence contained in Nike advertisement. The research method used is the descriptive qualitative discourse analysis. The research data consists of 17 advertisement videos uploaded on Nike's official YouTube platform during the period July 2024 to February 2025. The analysis was conducted using three theories: Transportation Imagery Model theory by Green & Brock, Appraisal theory by Martin & White, and Cohesion-coherence theory by Halliday & Hasan. The findings shows that Nike advertisement use more narratives that tell the character stories of iconic athletes. The storyline consistently features narratives of struggle, self-doubt, and difficult situations athletes face. The language of propaganda is found through a short theme or tagline that appears at the end of the advertisement video. The theme or tagline is explained through the narrator's expression so that it forms the audience's perception of the values offered by Nike. Cohesion and coherence of the narrative are formed through lexical links, the use of conjunctions, and logical storylines so that the advertisement message can be understood and accepted intact by the audience.
