Abstract

The application of solar-based water pump technology in Desa Besar II, Pantai Cermin District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, aims to overcome the irrigation challenges faced by local farmers. This village, which is an agricultural area with great agricultural potential, has experienced a decline in crop yields due to inadequate traditional irrigation systems, especially during the dry season. The application of solar water pump technology is expected to increase irrigation efficiency by utilizing solar energy as a clean and sustainable source of energy. The implementation of this activity includes the installation of a solar water pump system, intensive training for farmer groups on the operation and maintenance of the system, and monitoring and evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the technology. The evaluation results showed an increase in crop yields of 20-30% and improved crop quality, thanks to more consistent irrigation. Positive responses from farmers regarding the ease of use of the technology and the training provided also reflect a significant impact on their independence and welfare. Recommendations for further development include the expansion of this technology and increased technical support in the future.

Abstract

Di era yang sudah serba digital kebutuhan untuk melakukan promosi di media massa khususnya elektronik (dalam bentuk iklan di televisi) sudah merupakan suatu hal yang lumrah dilakukan, dengan tujuan untuk menarik minat orang banyak terhadap apa yang dipromosikan tersebut. Namun demikian tetap saja ada yang menggunakan papan-papan reklame (Billboard) yang terletak ditempat-tempat tertentu saja dan mungkin posisinya ada yang tidak pas dengan sudut pandang penglihatan atau dengan kata lain hanya dari posisi tertentu saja untuk dapat melihat isi informasi papan reklame tersebut. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dibutuhkan suatu papan reklame yang dapat berputar dan dengan menggunakan sebuah Microcontroller AT89S51 dan sebuah motor Stepper, akan dirancang suatu model papan reklame yang dapat berputar tetapi hanya dalam bentuk miniatur.

Abstract

The electricity payment system in Indonesia is by calculating the power used. The tool that records the use of electrical energy is a KWH meter. From this problem, an idea was obtained to record the KWH meter digitally so that we can easily find out how much electricity is used. This tool provides a value every time a pulse is detected by a photo diode against the KWH disc movement indicator. The function of this tool is a simulation with assumptions based on the KWH meter disc movement indicator detected by the photo diode, after which the pulses are processed on the AT89S51 microcontroller, and presented via a seven segment display. So that customers can easily find out the cost of electricity that has been used. Overall tool testing is done by connecting all parts of the tool and the KWH Meter is connected to the power grid and to the load. Simple testing is done by connecting the tool to a load of 100 watts and 200 watts

Abstract

Dirancang sebuah display running text yang dapat dikendalikan oleh sebuah romote, dimana pesannya yang sedang berjalan sewaktu-waktu dapat dihentikan, dan juga dapat kembali dijalankan. Display running text merupakan rangkaian aplikasi penggabungan antara elektronika yaitu IC-IC digital dan mikrokontroler, dimana kata-katanya dapat diubah setiap saat melalui komputer yang terhubung dengan display running text tersebut. Selain itu juga dapat ditampilkan sebuah pesan lain yang dapat ditampilkan sewaktu-waktu saja, dimana pesan ini tidak tampil kecuali jika ditekan tombol tertentu pada remote pengendali. Display running text akan menampilkan pesan-pesan sesuai dengan pesan yang telah diisikan pada mikrokontroler (pesan biasa). Selain itu mikrokontroler juga diisi dengan pesan yang akan ditampilkan sewaktu-waktu (pesan tersembunyi). Dalam keadaan biasa, display running text akan menampilkan pesan biasa sambil menunggu sinyal dari remote. Jika ada sinyal yang dating dari remote, maka mikrokontroler akan membandingkan datanya , kemudian mengerjakan perintah sesuai dengan data yang diterimanya dari remote tersebut.

Abstract

The international collaboration between the TVET Center of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (FT-UISU) aims to strengthen ASEAN regional synergy through a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)-based community service program. This initiative focuses on empowering local communities through technical training relevant to industry needs while fostering stronger connections between academia, industry, and society. Key programs include training in 3D design, digital printing, and workshops on basic automation and the Internet of Things (IoT). The collaboration not only enhances local skills but also broadens the international academic networks of both institutions, contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Challenges such as differences in curriculum systems and cross-border logistics were successfully overcome through intensive communication and shared commitment. Moving forward, both institutions aim to expand this collaboration through the development of joint TVET curricula, student and faculty mobility, and community-based research projects.
