Abstract

This paper discusses the hadith of women's leadership to get a comprehensive and comprehensive understanding of the values contained can provide insight for Muslims, especially women who want to take part in the public sphere. A woman needs to pay attention to the conditions as a leader who has the capability and credibility and still pays attention to existing boundaries and continues to make the hadith of the Prophet as a reference in holding a leadership position.

Abstract

Melochia umbellata (Houtt) Stapf. var. Visenia is plant species included in Malvaceae family. This spesies is known as paliasa and used as traditional medicine by the people of South Sulawesi. This study aimed to determine the secondary metabolites by reagents and toxicity characteristic testing from bark extract of Melochia umbellata (Houtt) Stapf. var. Visenia using Brine Shirmp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. The extract was prepeared by maceration ethyl acetate. Phytochemical test result showed that the ethyl acetate extract was containing the steroid compound, alkaloids and terpenoids. Toxicity test performed by shrimp Artemia salina Leach larvae was at 48 hours. The toxic effects of the extract were identified by the percentage of the number of shrimp larvae mortality using probit value analysis (LC50). The toxicity test of bark Melochia umbellata (Houtt) Stapf. var. Visenia extract showed that the ethyl acetate extract is toxic to A. salina LC50 = 54,55 mg / mL.

Abstract

The use of sustainable materials in geotechnical applications has increased in recent years due to their positive impacts on geo-environmental and future generations. This paper contributes to existing knowledge on geocell reinforcement of soil by proposing a new inexpensive product: cells made from natural materials, Date Palm Leaf fiber coated with Bitumen (DPLB), to improve its durability, as an alternative to commercially available high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geocells. A physical laboratory model was designed to examine the performance of the DPLB cell and HDPE cell reinforced base layer under repeated loading. The study tested different infill materials gravel, sand, and recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) in DPLB cells and HDPLE geocell-reinforced granular layers and compared them to unreinforced layers. The reinforcement's performance was assessed using elastic deformation, permanent deformation, traffic benefit ratio, and rut depth reduction. Results showed that both DPLB cell and geocell reinforced sand decreased the cumulative permanent deformations compared to the unreinforced layer. DPLB reinforcement cells improved the permanent deformation behavior by 30% due to the lateral restriction provided by the DPLB pockets on the infill materials, while the geocell improved it by 7%. The traffic benefit ratio (TBR) of geocell-reinforced RAP is 26% greater than that of the DPLB cell-reinforced RAP section, although both geocell and DPLB cell exhibited similar TBR values in the case of gravel infill materials. The experimental results showed that DPLB cells are a cost-effective and environmentally friendly substitute for commercially available HDPE geocells in soil reinforcement applications. Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2024-010-10-018 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

The evolving times and increasing complexity of student life demand that Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in higher education be more relevant and contextually grounded. However, a gap still exists between the content of IRE instruction and the actual needs of students in addressing contemporary social, moral, and technological challenges within the academic environment. This study aims to explore the perceptions of students in the Islamic Religious Education program at Raden Intan State Islamic University, Lampung, regarding the relevance of IRE in higher education. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with ten students from diverse academic backgrounds and class levels. Participants were selected using a snowball sampling technique, and the data were analyzed through stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal varied student perceptions of IRE learning. Some students view it as still relevant due to its role in character building, moral and spiritual value formation, and equipping them for campus life challenges. However, others criticized the overly theoretical nature of the instruction, the lack of practical application, and its limited alignment with current social and technological realities. Lecturers who can contextualize material and apply interactive teaching methods are perceived as more effective. The study highlights the need to renew IRE teaching strategies to make them more contextual, responsive to contemporary developments, and centered on active student engagement. It recommends the development of participatory learning strategies, the integration of technology, and the strengthening of theory-practice connections to enhance the internalization of religious values in students' academic and social lives.

Abstract

This study examines the mental workload experienced by call center operators at PT XYZ Makassar using the NASA-TLX method. High mental workload can impact service quality, productivity, and employees' psychological well-being, particularly in high-pressure service industries. The aim of this study is to identify the dominant dimensions of mental workload and analyze their relationship with the work conditions of call center operators. A mixed-methods approach was employed, focusing on descriptive quantitative analysis, complemented by qualitative data through semi-structured interviews. The primary instrument used was the NASA-TLX, which measures mental workload based on six dimensions: mental demand, physical demand, temporal demand, performance, effort, and frustration. The study involved 20 call center operators at PT XYZ Makassar. The findings reveal that 60% of operators experience high levels of mental workload, with effort and mental demand being the primary contributing factors. These findings indicate the need for improvements in workload management, such as restructuring work schedules, stress management training, and enhancing psychosocial support to alleviate excessive mental workload. This study contributes to the development of cognitive ergonomics theory in the service sector context and provides practical recommendations for improving employee well-being and operational efficiency. Further research could explore the long-term effects of mental workload on employee health and performance in other sectors.
