Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify and analyze disinformation as part of the hokas leading up to the 2024 elections in Indonesia, Besides this research aim to give the recommendation how to combating the disinformation. This study uses descriptive analysis techniques and is qualitative in nature. There are four (four) steps to the data analysis in this study. The first step is the data collection procedure using web crawlers, data reduction comes in second, third, the method for displaying data. Data visualization is done methodically to facilitate analysis and conclusion drawing. This research has been able to identify and analyze the emergence of hoaxes ahead of the 2024 election. During the period 19 July-25 October 2023 there were 21 hoaxes about manipulated content, 3 hoaxes about defamation and reputation damage, and 2 hoaxes about emotional provocation tactics. Verifying the fact as the combating the disinformation ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election could be conducted by news verification techniques, including: (1) checking the source; (2) checking the facts; (3) checking the images; and (4) checking the date.

Abstract

Suicide cases in Indonesia are increasing from year to year. Suicide cases befell students in Yogyakarta, a major blow to the world of higher education. The formulation of the problem is, what is the model of inner conflict experienced by the perpetrators of student suicide in Yogyakarta? What is the solution to prevent and overcome cases of suicide experienced by students in Yogyakarta? This research paradigm is qualitative. Data collection techniques through focus group discussion (FGD), content analysis of news reports in the media, literature review, and observation. The research time is November 2023 to January 2024. Data analysis using the Miles and Huberman Model or Flow Model. The result is that suicide perpetrators experience inner conflict due to being hit by academic and/or non-academic problems. Romantic problems or failure to establish a love relationship, as well as difficulties in completing studies are the main causes of student suicide. The solution is that the campus detects the potential for student suicide earlier by establishing more intensive communication. Students must be more open and communicative with lecturers and other students. In another aspect, strengthening mental health, faith and devotion in students is important to prevent suicide. Revision of regulations regarding the prohibition of suicide is urgently implemented.

Abstract

Newspaper industry is entering a state of emergency in Indonesia. Dewan Pers demands that the government provide incentives to press companies during Covid-19. The growth in the number of internet users, the downward trend in advertising revenue, and the number of newspaper circulation are problems in the print media business. List of questions in this study: what are the trends in the use of internet technology and social media in Indonesia?; why did various newspaper companies in Indonesia collapse and die in the digital era?; how is the effort to save the newspaper business? Meanwhile, the research paradigm is qualitative. The time of the study is November 2019 to May 2020. The results of this research, the growth in the number of internet users has been extraordinary in the last 20 years. Signs of the newspaper era are over, strengthened by many newspaper companies turning to online media. The number of readers fell, the number of advertisers plummeted, number of copies narrowed, and the cost of producing newspapers became increasingly expensive to cause the closure of various newspaper companies. Rescue by attracting young readers and doing various innovations. Tragically, the print media industry will end and die on its own.
