Abstract

Abstract

Penggunaan energi listrik semakin meningkat.

Abstract

As the high electrical load increases, power outages can occur suddenly while using electronics and often will cause damage to both software and hardware from the electronic load. To solve this problem, can use an UPS. but UPS also still has weaknesses that become the basis for consideration of its use not yet widespread, such as the price is still expensive and the backup time is short, Therefore, the design of a single-phase ac power supply with a PWM Inverter controller based on the Atmega 328 Microcontroller was carried out to increase the flexibility of the UPS using a current flow pattern according to a bidirectional ac power supply and simplified in this study to make it more economical with fewer diodes and MOSFETs. Total harmonic distortion (THD) voltage is 5.24%, output frequency is 49.56 Hz, output voltage and voltage drop meet the standard with the UPS device consisting of a transformer, adapter and inverter with adjustable switching frequency and filters.

Abstract

The utilization of wind energy as one of the renewable energy sources in Indonesia is still limited. This is due to Indonesia's large wind potential, but it is at low speeds. One modification of wind turbines to overcome this problem is by using inverse taper and taper blades. Inverse taper blades have a chord distribution that increases from root to tip while taper blades have a chord distribution that decreases from root to tip. This research conducts the design and construction of inverse taper and taper blades on small-scale wind turbines using NACA 6412 airfoil type, then tested in the field and obtained the performance of each blade. The design was carried out using blade element momentum theory to obtain the blade geometry shape and perform performance analysis of each type of blade. Based on the simulation results obtained from QBlade, it shows that the inverse taper blade performance has a maximum Cp of 0.52 while the taper blade has a maximum Cp of 0.41. The power graph from field testing results shows that inverse taper blades provide good power generation at low wind speeds compared to taper blades. The inverse taper blade has a cut-in speed of 1.2 m/s and the best power production occurs at speeds of 1-4 m/s.

Abstract

Currently, the Customer Service Unit (ULP) of the Blang Kejeren State Power Company (PLN) uses the system of the Diesel Power Power Centre (PLTD). Sistem ini terdiri dari PLTD yang dimiliki PLN dan PLtD Lewa, serta beberapa PLTMH (Pusat Listrik Tenaga Mikro Hidro). Aim of the study is to assess the technical viability of the 20 kV ULP Blangkejeren system if supplied with the Kutacane GI and parallel with Distributed Generation (DG). This is because there is no distribution network that can connect the Blangkejeren ULP load centre to the Kutacane GI. Using the PSS Sincal Power System Analysis Application, load scenarios for power plants and distribution networks are modeled and simulated. The findings indicate that the 20kV Ulp Blangkjeren system provided by GI Kutacana, PLTMH, PLTM Lawe, and PLTD Rema is the most appropriate scenario. This situation is regarded as optimal, with a network voltage of 21.07 kV on the ULP Blangkejeren Connection Guard Bus.

Abstract

Solar energy is a renewable energy source that has become increasingly popular in recent years as an electricity source. However, the availability of trained personnel to install rooftop solar panels is limited. This community service program was conducted to provide training in residential solar system installation for students from Dayah Mini Banda Aceh. The training took place in the Power Electronics and Renewable Energy Laboratory at Universitas Syiah Kuala, where theoretical training on renewable energy was combined with demonstrations of equipment and simulated installation practice. The modules included rail mounting, panel positioning, inverter connections, charge controller setup, and wiring in series and parallel. Students were guided by lecturers and assisted by engineering students who had already undergone training in this field. They exhibited great enthusiasm and completed all the stages of installation successfully. This program not only addresses the shortage of workers with such skills in the solar installation industry but also helps students from low-income families acquire these practical competencies that can lead to jobs or entrepreneurship within the ever-growing sector of renewable energy; thus reducing unemployment among their communities while supporting Indonesia's shift towards sustainable energy.
