Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of liquidity on firm value with profitability as a mediating variable in PT Gudang Garam Tbk from 2019 to 2023. Using a quantitative approach with path analysis and secondary data from the company’s financial reports, this research tests the relationship among liquidity (measured by Current Ratio), profitability (measured by Return on Assets), and firm value (measured by Price to Book Value). The results indicate that liquidity has no significant effect on profitability, and similarly, liquidity does not significantly affect firm value. However, profitability has a significant positive effect on firm value. Furthermore, profitability is not proven to mediate the effect of liquidity on firm value. The findings suggest that while maintaining optimal liquidity is important, it is profitability that plays a more vital role in enhancing firm value. Management is advised to prioritize strategies that improve profitability to increase shareholder value

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how much profitability can mediate the connection between firm value and leverage at PT Indofarma Tbk between 2019 and 2023. The route analysis method was utilized in this study's quantitative methodology, and SPSS version 22 software was used for data processing. The annual study's companies' financial statements period served as the data source. With a coefficient value of -3.251 and a significance level of p = 0.000, the findings of the analysis show that leverage significantly reduces firm value; however, no real impact of leverage on profitability was found (coefficient = 0.000; p = 0.904). On the other hand, the findings demonstrates that profitability raises the worth of the company, but this relationship is not statistically significant (coefficient = 19.125; p = 0.288). These results indicate that how leverage and corporate value are related is not significantly mediated by profitability. In terms of theory, this study confirms that capital structure, especially in the form of leverage, has a direct impact on firm value without involving profitability as an intermediary channel. The practical implication of this result is the importance of controlling the debt structure so as not to cause a decrease in firm value, as well as the need for management to remain focused on improving the efficiency of asset performance. This study expands academic understanding of the dynamics between leverage, profitability, and firm value, and provides strategic insights for decision makers, especially in terms of optimal capital structure management.

Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic began to spread across various regions in Indonesia, causing many companies to experience various operational and financial impacts, especially health sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Since the outbreak, the demand for health services has skyrocketed. Many people were infected with the virus, leading to a surge in patients at hospitals and healthcare providers, particularly those requiring intensive care due to COVID-19 infection. As a result, healthcare companies experienced changes in revenue and operational costs. The Net Profit Margin (NPM) ratio did not show substantial changes in the financial performance of healthcare companies before, during, and after the COVID-19 epidemic. The TATO ratio did not show substantial changes in the financial performance of healthcare companies before, during, and after the COVID-19 epidemic. Healthcare companies should improve operational efficiency and asset utilization to maximize revenue contributions and enhance operational management, enabling them to manage and allocate company assets more productively.

Abstract

This research aims to understand whether company size mediates the effect of profitability and leverage on company value in manufacturing companies in the basic industrial and chemical sectors during the 2020-2022 period. This type of research uses quantitative research using secondary data recorded systematically in the form of a time series, namely from 2020-2022 obtained from the official IDX website (www.idx.co.id) with associative cause and effect as a form of research. Based on the test results using the T Test, it was found that Return on Equity (ROE), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Company Size had a significant effect on company value with significance values of 0.0043, 0.0000 respectively, and 0.00005. This shows that Hypotheses 1, 2, and 3 can be accepted. However, the influence of ROE and DER on company size does not have a significant effect on company value with significance values of 0.4481 and 0.8949 respectively, so Hypotheses 4 and 5 are rejected. Based on the test results using the Sobel Test, it was found that company size was unable to mediate the influence of ROE and DER on company value with p-values of 0.64 and 0.45 respectively, indicating that Hypotheses 6 and 7 were rejected.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the partial impact of Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) on the stock price performance of state-owned banks (SOEs) in Indonesia during the 2015–2024 period. The research employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis based on secondary data from the financial statements of four SOEs listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The results show that the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) has a negative but insignificant effect on stock prices, indicating that liquidity efficiency does not directly influence investor assessments of bank performance. The Net Interest Margin (NIM) has a significant negative effect, suggesting that a higher interest margin may reflect increased credit risk or reduced competitiveness, which is perceived negatively by the market. Meanwhile, the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) has a significant positive effect, demonstrating that stronger capital adequacy increases investor confidence and supports higher stock valuations. These findings imply that not all financial ratios consistently affect stock prices and that investor perceptions depend on broader market conditions and bank-specific strategies.
