Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the form and application of reciprocity among corn farmers in Mantobua Village, Lohia Sub-district, Muna Regency. The informants were selected using the snowball sampling technique, and they were maize farmers who practiced reciprocity in maize cultivation in Mantobua Village. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation using interview guides as instruments. The study employed the qualitative descriptive analysis method, which involves data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that farmers engage in comparable forms of reciprocity during corn farming activities, such as land clearing, planting, and harvesting. The social reciprocity relationships among corn farmers are increasing, as all farmers continue to engage in reciprocity activities. Reciprocity has been a long-standing practice that continues to this day. Younger farmers still uphold and apply the values of reciprocity to establish social relations between communities.

Abstract

Rice productivity in Inceptisols is often constrained by high phosphate fixation and low nutrient efficiency, despite high total nutrient reserves. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of silicaenriched biochar in improving soil chemical properties and maintaining rice yield under reduced N, P, K fertilization. A field experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Design with two factors: silicaenriched biochar (0, 1.25, and 2.5 t ha-1) and N, P, K fertilizer dosages (0, 50%, and 100% of the  recommended dose). Observed parameters included Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), available phosphorus, total soil silica, and yield components. The results showed a significant interaction between treatments on soil chemical properties, particularly CEC and pH. Application of 2.5 t ha-1 silica-enriched biochar independently increased available phosphorus by 24.3% and total soil silica by 5.9% compared to the control, likely due to phosphate desorption mechanisms. Agronomically, while N, P, K fertilizer was the dominant factor for yield, the combination of 2.5 t ha-1  silica-enriched biochar  with 50% N, P, K dosage produced Milled Dry Grain (MDG) yields that were statistically comparable to the 100% N, P, K treatment. This indicated that silica-enriched biochar can substitute up to 50% of inorganic fertilizer requirements without compromised yield

Abstract

Character education is one of the strategic agendas in national education policy aimed at shaping students who are faithful, have noble character, and possess a complete personality amidst the challenges of globalization and digital transformation. The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to students' learning patterns and behavior, which on one hand opens up opportunities for competence development, but on the other hand raises ethical challenges and value degradation. This article aims to analyze character education within the framework of educational policy, focusing on the connection between concepts, policies, and implementation practices in schools during the digital era. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study design and educational policy analysis enriched by the results of initial observations in the school environment. Data were obtained from national education policy documents, scientific literature, and previous research findings, and then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The research findings indicate that, conceptually and normatively, character education policies have been formulated comprehensively and are relevant to the challenges of the digital era. However, its implementation at the educational unit level still faces various obstacles, particularly in integrating character values into technology-based learning. This research emphasizes the importance of strengthening character education implementation strategies to align with the dynamics of digital education.
