Abstract

Singapore, as an Islamic minority country, was once the center for the development of Islamic scholarship in Southeast Asia. Singapore's position as a center for international trade and commerce has encouraged scientific transmigration from the Middle East to the archipelago, which was spearheaded by traders and Sufis. This serves as the foundation for the presence of Sufism in Singapore. This study aims to explain the history of Islam in Singapore and the development of Sufism there. The approach used in this research is qualitative. The process begins with gathering data and sources pertinent to the conversation. The obtained data and sources undergo verification, which involves review, comparison, and analysis. Once the correct results are obtained, the final stage of the data analysis is documented in written form. According to the study's findings, it is very likely that the arrival of Islam in Singapore occurred from the 8th to the 11th centuries, brought by traders from Arabia. When the Malacca Sultanate controlled Temasik in the 15th century, Islam experienced rapid development. In Singapore, Sufism-style Islam emerged. Despite experiencing ups and downs, the teachings of Sufism are still part of the Islamic tradition in Singapore. As a result, Islam, as a minority religion, was able to survive until it finally had various legitimate institutions in the Singapore government.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of Fatayat NU West Sumatra during three different leadership periods, namely Khadijah Mawardi, Husna Aziz, and Siti Izzati Aziz. The research method used is the historical method, which includes the stages of heuristics, source criticism, synthesis, and preparation of reports based on the results of data analysis. The results showed that during the leadership of Khadijah Mawardi, Fatayat NU did not show significant movement, especially because at the same time there was monoloyalty to the Golkar Party in the New Order era. Furthermore, during the leadership of Husna Aziz, the role of Fatayat NU began to increase and was recognised by the wider community, especially through cooperation with the Ministry of Religion and UNICEF. However, during the leadership of Siti Izzati Aziz, there was a setback due to her focus on preparing to run as a legislative candidate from one of the political parties at that time.

Abstract

As a literary work of the Minangkabau people, Tambo is said to be historical literature. In content, this tambo does not explain the existence of King Adityawarman as part of Minangkabau history, and only highlights figures who are Muslim. This research aims to analyse the extent of Islamic influence in the tambo manuscript, with the primary source of the manuscript "Undang-Undang Minangkabau" collection of Surau Parak Laweh Pariangan. This research is qualitative research with a philological approach, and the analysis uses a historical content analysis approach. The results showed that the preaching movement of the Tareqat Syatariyah in the darek area was greatly affected by the Paderi movement. The Tarekat Syattriyah wrote tambo containing historical, issues of Minangkabau customs and culture that had been integrated with Islam. Tambo is not only seen as a literary work with historical content and customs, but also as a product of a political agenda.
