Abstract

Gokart is one of the four-wheeled automotive sports such as Formula, NASCAR, Speed Car, Rally, Offroad and so on. Its small physical form, has a small engine power capacity as well so that gokarts only need a short track. The method used in this design is experimentation and literature.  The gokart engine used is a motorcycle engine with a capacity of 100 cc. From the results of the chassis calculation, the engine weight is 23 kg with the engine load received by the left and right rear wheels of 23 kg each, the driver's weight is 70 kg and the load received by the wheels is 35 kg. There are quite a lot of types of gokart chassis, the gokart chassis I chose is Turbular space frame, the height of the frame is 100 mm from the ground. The performance of the go-kart has been tested with the following operating parameters:  Braking and deceleration required with an initial speed of 2.8 (m/s) = 10.10 km/h by : 1030.32 (N), and the results of the turning behavior test found that the gokart experienced understeer. The results of testing the strength of the frame are known gokart able to withstand the load of the driver 100 kg.

Abstract

Motorized vehicles are generally equipped with a driving engine which functions as a driver for the car. Motorized vehicles have engines consisting of one cylinder, two cylinders, three cylinders, and so on, and all of them require air as a medium for burning fuel in the combustion chamber to produce power to drive the vehicle. Motorized vehicles, both at sea and on land, operate at different air temperatures in all corners of the earth. This research was carried out by varying the air temperature entering the combustion chamber. The intended temperatures are 20oC, 25oC, 30oC, 35oC, and 40oC, and what will be examined is fuel consumption, HC, and CO exhaust emissions. The research results show that air temperatures from 20 to 40 degrees do not significantly affect fuel consumption or HC and CO exhaust emissions.

Abstract

The purpose of this design is to be able and understand how to build an exhaust on a 110 cc vehicle, the method used in this design is experimentation and literature by carrying out planning activities that see the conditions in the field. So far, we know that the exhaust on a 110 cc motorcycle has only one sound, which in its application we need another exhaust or remodel the kalpot if you want to get a different sound. The problem that will solve this final project is how to design one exhaust that is efficient, simple, economical, and can produce two sounds. There is also the result of planning is to produce a product that is simple, economical and easy to operate.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of coil voltage on fuel consumption in supra x 125. Coil is used as a modifier of low voltage current into high voltage to produce sparks on spark plugs. and is expected to get various benefits, including the use of fuel so as not to be wasteful. In this study, experimental research methods were used. The research tools of multitester, measuring cup, gasoline material results in carrying out this research are the average amount of fuel for coil racing 1.50 ml / minute for standard coil 1.64 ml / minute shows higher the coil racing voltage is a lot of fuel that is hugged to process in the combustion chamber compared to standard coil does not require the amount of fuel for the process in the combustion chamber use standard coil voltage so that the use of fuel is not wasteful.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how much influence the replacement of lower resistor resistance values ​​(6 and 8 0hm) with rotations of 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 rpm has on battery charging, and to find out how much influence the replacement of higher resistor resistance values ​​(13 and 15 0hm) with rotations of 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 rpm has on battery charging. From the background, the regulator charging system is a system that is very much needed in four-wheeled vehicles to meet the needs of battery current when the engine is running, because when the engine is running, especially gasoline engines, it really needs battery current for the continuity of the system to work, the method used in this study is the literature study method and direct testing method as well as recording the results and analyzing them theoretically based on observations. The results obtained are experimental research on the resistor resistance value below the standard size, the charging voltage at 1000 rpm engine speed is above the battery voltage, if the engine speed is increased higher then overcharging will occur (excessive charging) then the battery will be damaged where the charging voltage at idle speed is sufficient for the battery voltage, and does not exceed the battery limit voltage when the rotation reaches 4000 rpm, which is 14.5 volts, while the battery limit voltage is 14.8 volts.
