Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the management of the Kaizen 5S concept (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) in improving the soft skills of graduates of SMK Negeri 1 Pangandaran and SMK Negeri 1 Padaherang. The background of this study is based on the industrial world's need for vocational school graduates who not only have technical competence, but also soft skills such as discipline, responsibility, orderliness, and work ethic. The study used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the planning of the implementation of Kaizen 5S was carried out based on the 5W + 1H principle and involved various school stakeholders. Organization was carried out by forming a 5S team with a clear structure and tasks. The implementation of 5S was integrated into learning and practice activities, thus forming positive student habits. Supervision was carried out routinely through evaluations, field inspections, and weekly self-assessments. Obstacles found included limited infrastructure, the role of workers that was not optimal, and weak administrative records of supervision. In conclusion, the implementation of the Kaizen 5S concept contributes positively to forming a productive work culture and improving students' soft skills, especially discipline, responsibility, and concern for the work environment. Keywords: Educational Management; Soft Skills; Graduate Quality; Vocational High School Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen konsep Kaizen 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, dan Shitsuke) dalam peningkatan softskill mutu lulusan di SMK Negeri 1 Pangandaran dan SMK Negeri 1 Padaherang. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada kebutuhan dunia industri terhadap lulusan SMK yang tidak hanya memiliki kompetensi teknis, tetapi juga softskill seperti disiplin, tanggung jawab, keteraturan, dan etos kerja. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan penerapan Kaizen 5S dilakukan berdasarkan prinsip 5W+1H serta melibatkan berbagai stakeholder sekolah. Pengorganisasian dilakukan dengan pembentukan tim 5S yang memiliki struktur dan tugas jelas. Pelaksanaan 5S terintegrasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dan praktik, sehingga mampu membentuk kebiasaan positif siswa. Pengawasan dilakukan secara rutin melalui evaluasi, inspeksi lapangan, dan self-assessment mingguan. Hambatan yang ditemukan antara lain keterbatasan sarana prasarana, peran teknisi yang belum optimal, serta lemahnya pencatatan administrasi pengawasan. Kesimpulannya, penerapan konsep Kaizen 5S berkontribusi positif dalam membentuk budaya kerja yang produktif serta meningkatkan softskill siswa, khususnya kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan kerja.
