Abstract

Abstract

Associated with a person's psychological state. Unwittingly, Celebrity Worship has become one of the manifestations of Hamiyyah Jahiliyyah in today's era, especially the post-truth era. This attitude is a threat to oneself because it is not by Islamic teachings. Individual fanaticism towards a person or group causes the truth to become unclear and forms a character that always feels the most in everything as explained in QS. Al-Fath [48]: 26. This article is a literature study analyzed with Fazlur Rahman's double movement theory to find out how the phenomenon of Celebrity Worship is viewed from the perspective of the Qur'an and how the correlation between Celebrity Worship and Hamiyyah Jahiliyyah. Likewise to see the cause and effect and how to avoid the attitude of Celebrity Worship. This study found that there is a correlation between the attitude of Celebrity Worship and Hamiyyah Jahiliyyah in terms of the characteristics that appear such as fanaticism to the level of worship, arrogance, and feeling the most in everything. Some things that influence the emergence of Celebrity Worship are age, education, social skills, and gender. The peak effect of this attitude is shirk because of the worship of individuals or groups so that they forget things related to divinity, especially in the post-truth era where the truth is unclear.

Abstract

In the Al-Qur’an dan Terjemahannya Edisi Penyempurnaan 2019 published by the Ministry of Religion, there are still several disabled verses that have not been translated with disabled-friendly translations. Even though at the launch of the QTK in the 2019 edition, it was explained that this edition accommodates responssive and disabled-friendly translations. Thus, this study needs to be conducted to explain how translations are ‘considered’ friendly for persons with disabilities by the Ministry of Religion. The type of this research is library research, using descriptive-analytic methods and using Peter Newmark’s translation theory. The conclusion of this study explains that: First, the translation of verses for physical and mental disabilities in the QTK 2019 edition tends to be inconsistent. Second, additional notes are still needed to make the reader understand, especially in emphasizing the information on verses that indicate disabilities, so as not to cause misunderstandings. Third, translations still tend to focus on the context of the verse, although the composition and structure of diction and sentences also need to be considered to create a disability-friendly translation. Fourth, there is no clear barometer in the QTK 2019 refinement edition, especially in translations that are ‘considered’ to be disabled-friendly.

Abstract

The tradition of offerings (sesajen) in the customary ceremonies of the Yogyakarta Palace represents a vital part of Javanese cultural heritage, embodying profound philosophical and spiritual values. Rooted in the syncretism of animism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam, the practice of sesajen serves as a medium for gratitude, reverence for ancestors, and spiritual communication. Rituals such as Labuhan and Sekaten continue to reflect the Javanese worldview of harmony among humans, nature, and the supernatural. Each offering component carries symbolic meaning and reflects generations of local wisdom that underpin Javanese identity. However, in the face of globalisation and modernisation, this tradition faces existential threats, particularly from shifting values among younger generations and the increasing influence of global ideologies. In response, the Yogyakarta Palace and traditional communities have implemented revitalisation strategies through cultural education, religious integration, and ceremonial preservation. This paper examines the types, preparation processes, symbolic meanings, and socio-cultural roles of offerings in Yogyakarta Palace rituals. Within the framework of Southeast Asian Indigenous and Ethnic Studies, this research highlights the dynamic resilience of Indigenous practices in adapting to changing times while preserving their core values.
