Abstract

ABSTRACT This article aims to describe the codicological aspects of the Qur'anic manuscripts, including the historiology, form, illumination, symbols, and others. The study employed library research with primary data on al-Qur`an manuscripts at the Al-Mukarramah Sintang palace. The study found that that this manuscript is the only manuscript of the Al-Qur`an in the Sintang palace, estimated to be 340 years old, written by Sultan Abang Nata and H. Abdul Karim, and its authorship was sponsored by the Al-Mukarramah Sintang palace. The base of the manuscript is tapa bark wood typical of the Dayak community in rural West Kalimantan, indicating the integration of Kalimantan culture with the writings of the Quran at that time. Furthermore, the type of khat used in the manuscript is naskhi using black ink on the Arabic text and red ink on letter descriptions, waqaf and vowel (syakl). Seventh, there is no thick illumination, only the use of simple lines and circle models as markers of waqf and juz markers. Keywords: Codicology, Quran manuscripts, Al-Mukarramah Palace, Sintang ABSTRAK Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan aspek kodikologi pada manus­krip al-Qur`an, seperti historisitasnya, bentuk, iluminasi, simbol dan lainnya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah studi kepustakaan dengan data primer manuskrip al-Qur`an di istana Al-Mukarramah Sintang. Kesim­pulan artikel ini menjelaskan bahwa: Pertama, manuskrip ini merupakan manuskrip al-Qur`an satu-satunya yang ada di keraton Sintang diperkira­kan berumur 340 an tahun, ditulis oleh Sultan Abang Nata dan H. Abdul Karim dan kepenulisannya disponsori oleh istana Al-Mukarramah Sintang. Alas manuskrip adalah jenis kayu tapa kulit kayu khas masya­rakat Dayak di pedalaman Kalimantan Barat, mengindikasikan bahwa adanya integrasi budaya Kalimantan dengan penulisan al-Qur`an pada masa itu. Selanjutnya, jenis khat yang digunakan dalam manuskrip adalah naskhi menggunakan tinta berwarna hitam pada teks Arab dan tinta berwarna merah pada keterangan surat, waqaf dan harakat (syakl). Ketu­juh, tidak ditemukan iluminasi yang kental, hanya berupa penggunaan garis dan model lingkaran sederhana sebagai penanda waqaf dan penanda juz.  Kata Kunci: Kodikologi, Manuskrip Al-Quran, Istana Al-Mukarramah, Sintang.

Abstract

Abstract Many researchers have conducted studies on Hamka. However, studies on the rationalization of the interpretation of verses about Heaven and tracing the causes of the rationalization of performance have yet to be carried out. Therefore, the researcher was interested in conducting this study further. The type of this research is library research with a descriptive-analytical method. The genealogical theory of Michel Foucault explains the genealogy of Hamka's interpretation of thought. The conclusion of this article explains that, Firstly, Hamka attempts to make a rational and contextual interpretation of the verses describing Heaven. With the method of sensible and contextual performance, the metaphysical and abstract nature of Heaven becomes easily understood by readers (society), moreover explained by Hamka in simple language and explanation. Secondly, Hamka's rationalist thinking and contextual typology of description were influenced by several factors, including his life experience as a preacher, writer, organization, and his teachers. Thirdly, Hamka's interpretation of the verses about Heaven accommodates educational values ​​between humans and God and also among humans.

Abstract

Abstract This study is motivated by the lack of studies on the death tradition in the Nuguk Hamlet community, Melawi Regency, West Kalimantan. Therefore, researchers will conduct further studies. This research focuses on the values of humanization, liberation, and transcendence in the tradition of voluntary almsgiving in the Nuguk hamlet community. The type of this research is field research with a case study model, namely a case study of Nuguk hamlet, Melawi district, West Kalimantan. They use descriptive analysis methods and map prophetic educational values ​​introduced by Kuntowojoyo, focusing on three main aspects: humanization, liberation, and transcendence. The object studied is voluntary alms in the death rites of the people of Nuguk Hamlet, Melawi Regency. The conclusion of this article explains that First, the humanization aspect is that the habit of voluntary almsgiving in the death rites of the Nuguk hamlet community is a form of concern between fellow communities so that it can strengthen the community's ties of togetherness and friendship. Second, in the aspect of liberation, voluntary alms assistance in death rites can at least minimize negative things in society, such as social jealousy, envy, and other harmful things. Third, the aspect of transcendence, in the normative-theological claim of religion, is that all worship performed sincerely will receive rewards from God. Likewise, in the habit of voluntary charity, there is hope of receiving a reward from Allah for the good things done. Abstrak Studi ini dilatarbelakangi minimnya kajian tentang tradisi kematian pada masyarakat Dusun Nuguk kabupaten Melawi Kalimantan Barat, apalagi dikaitkan dengan pendekatan-pendekatan tertentu. Oleh karena itu, peneliti akan melakukan studi lebih jauh. Fokus penelitian ini adalah bagaimana nilai-nilai humanisasi, liberasi dan transendensi dalam tradisi Sedekah Suka-Rela pada masyarakat dusun Nuguk. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan dengan model studi kasus, yakni studi kasus dusun Nuguk kabupaten Melawi, Kalimantan Barat. Menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis, serta menggunakan pemetaan nilai-nilai pendidikan profetik yang digagas oleh Kuntowojoyo, yakni fokus pada tiga aspek utama: humanisasi, liberasi dan transendensi. Objek yang dikaji adalah sedekah suka-rela dalam ritus kematian masyarakat Dusun Nuguk, Kabupaten Melawi. Kesimpulan artikel ini menjelaskan bahwa: Pertama, aspek humanisasi bahwa kebiasaan sedekah suka-rela dalam ritus kematian masyarakat dusun Nuguk merupakan bentuk kepedulian antar sesama masyarakat, sehingga dapat mempererat jalinan kebersamaan dan silaturahmi warga. Kedua, aspek liberasi, bantuan sedekah suka-rela dalam ritus kematian setidaknya dapat meminimalisasi hal-hal negatif di kalangan masyarakat, misalnya kecemburuan sosial, sifat iri, dengki dan hal negatif lainnya. Ketiga, aspek transendensi, dalam klaim normatif-teologis agama, bahwa semua ibadah yang dilakukan dengan ikhlas akan mendapatkan ganjaran pahala dari Tuhan. Demikian juga pada kebiasaan sedekah suka-rela, bahwa ada harapan mendapatkan ganjaran pahala dari Allah atas kebaikan yang dilakukan tersebut.

Abstract

The main focus of this study is to explain the formulation or functionalization of the Al-Qur’an in the tradition of the fourth week in the Safar month in West Kalimantan, especially the people in Nuguk, Tebing Karangan Village (Melawi District) with the’ robo-robo’ tradition and the people in Parit Deraman Hulu (Kubu Raya District) with the ‘mandi Safar’ tradition. The type of this study is field research using the living Qur’an approach. The conclusion of this article explains that there are differences in the functional aspects of the Qur’an in the fourth week of the Safar month tradition. Regarding the ‘robo-robo’ traditions in Nuguk, Al-Qur’an has been used as a source of information and legalization for forming traditions. Meanwhile, in the ‘mandi safar’ tradition, the Qur’anic verses (parts of the verses of the Al-Qur’an) have been used as a source of practice manifested in real terms in the procession of carrying out the tradition. Secondly, on the aspect of agency transmission and the formation of traditions, in the ‘robo-robo’ tradition in Nuguk, the primary agency for the formation of traditions is the Qur’anic verses (Ali ‘Imran (3):103). Meanwhile, in the ‘mandi safar’ tradition in Parit Deraman Hulu, the primary actor in formulating this tradition was the behavior of religious elite figures, namely Syekh Ismail Mundu.

Abstract

Fatwa Majelis Ulama Indonesia Nomor 83 Tahun 2023 tentang pemboikotan produk Israel di Indonesia telah memunculkan respon positif dan negatif, sehingga memunculkan implikasi dan konsekuensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) menjelaskan arah dan sasaran fatwa; 2) menjelaskan implikasi dari fatwa tersebut; dan 3) implementasi fatwa tersebut dalam konteks sosial dan individu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dan menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis. Data primer untuk penelitian ini adalah fatwa MUI Nomor 83 Tahun 2023 dan argumen para tokoh MUI di media sosial. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa: 1) Arah dan sasaran fatwa MUI secara khusus ditujukan kepada masyarakat Indonesia, baik dalam konteks sosial maupun individu, sektoral dan penjualan. Namun, secara umum, sasaran fatwa tersebut dapat berlaku di semua negara sesuai dengan kesadaran masyarakat masing-masing. 2) pengesahan fatwa MUI tersebut berimplikasi pada penjual, pekerja, dan pembeli; dan 3) implementasi fatwa tersebut dalam konteks sosial adalah perlu diterapkan dengan penuh kesadaran untuk menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai kemanusiaan. Kemudian dalam konteks individu, terdapat pilihan berdasarkan pertimbangan untuk melaksanakan fatwa tersebut atau tidak, karena yang terpenting adalah mendahulukan kewajiban primer dari pada kewajiban sekunder.

Abstract

Abstract Studies on Al-Qur'an Education (TPQ) in rural areas still need to be carried out, especially in areas that are quite far from the city center, including Panda Hamlet, Bengkayang District, West Kalimantan. This research is a field study which aims firstly to describe the demographic and religious characteristics of Panda hamlet, and secondly to describe the practice of Al-Quran learning at TPQ Darul Ilmi Panda Hamlet, Lembang Village, Sanggau Ledo Sub-district, Bengkayang District, West Kalimantan. Data was collected through observation, interviews and document review. The conclusion of this study is firstly, demographically, the population is diverse in terms of ethnicity and religion but lives in peace and harmony. All residents can carry out religious rituals and practices in peace. Secondly, Al-Quran learning at TPQ Darul Ilmi has been carried out well. Learning uses a combination of traditional and modern methods such as the sorogan method but has been combined with modern models such as the Iqro method. In addition, TPQ Darul Ilmi already has a clear curriculum and effective administration, for example the use of guidebooks which contain reading provisions and restrictions, class levels, attendance list and so on. This creation and innovation is quite appreciative.  Abstrak Studi tentang Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur`an (TPQ) di daerah pedesaan masih perlu dilakukan, terlebih lagi daerah-daerah yang cukup jauh dari pusat kota, termasuk di Dusun Panda, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini adalah sebuah studi lapangan (field research) yang bertujuan pertama untuk mendeskripsikan karakter demografis dan keagamaan Dusun Panda dan kedua untuk mendeskripsikan praktek Pembelajaran Al-Quran di TPQ Darul Ilmi Dusun Panda, Desa Lembang, Kecamatan Sanggau Ledo, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan kaji dokumen. Kesimpulan dari studi ini adalah pertama, secara demografis penduduk beragam dari segi suku dan agama namun hidup rukun dan harmonis. Semua penduduk dapat melaksanakan ritual dan praktek keagamaan dengan damai. Kedua, pembelajaran Al-Qur'an di TPQ Darul Ilmi sudah terlaksanana dengan baik. Pembelajaran menggunakan gabungan metode tradisional dan modern seperti metode sorogan namun sudah dikombinasikan dengan model modern seperti metode Iqro. Selain itu, sudah memiliki kurikulum yang jelas dan administrasi yang efektif misalnya menggunakan buku panduan yang berisi ketentuan dan batasan-batasan bacaan, tingkatan kelas, absensi dan sebagainya, kreasi dan inovasi ini cukup apresiatif.

Abstract

Basiuni Imran is a 20th-century Sambas scholar who once studied with M Rasyid Ridha, so Rasyid Ridha's Islamic reforms ideas were also internalized by M. Basiuni Imran in some of the educational institutions in Sambas. However, in the interpretation, especially the Tafsir of Q.S Al-Fatihah M. Basiuni Imran does not accommodate the value of Islamic reform but interprets it with a Sufistic pattern. On the other hand, no solid information has been found about his Tarekat affiliations or Tarekat tendencies, thus strengthening the indication of his Sufism. Therefore, this research needs to be conducted. This study is library research with a descriptive-analytic model and uses the theory of genealogy and actor networks as an analytical framework. The conclusion of this article explains that the pattern of Sufism narrated by M. Basiuni Imran in interpreting Q.S. Al-Fatihah is by correlating Q.S. Al-Fatihah with Prayers. According to him, prayer is not only done with physical actions but also needs to focus the heart and soul on Allah SWT. He illustrated with the Qibla physically the direction of the Ka’bah is the Qibla during prayer. But in essence, the Qiblah faces the heart to Allah SWT. The factors that influence M. Basiuni Imran's Sufism thought are 1) the relationship of M. Basiuni Imran with some of his Sufism teachers, 2) the socio-religious conditions when writing the interpretation, and 3) the relationship between the book of Sufism and the book of interpretation by M. Basiuni Imran.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the gender dynamics in the implementation of basadosa sanctions for adultery cases in Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan. The study uses a qualitative research methodology. A descriptive-analytical approach will be applied to explore how these sanctions are implemented on male and female offenders, with a focus on gender differences and their impacts. This research will analyze the distinctions in the application of basadosa sanctions and the social, psychological, and economic consequences experienced by male and female offenders. The findings of this study regarding the application of basadosa sanctions in adultery cases in Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan, reveal significant gender inequality, with women often receiving harsher social sanctions compared to men. Social ostracism and humiliation are more frequently experienced by women, leading to more severe psychological and social impacts for them. This occurs due to social norms that view women as the guardians of family honor, while men are more often given leniency or forgiveness. The implications of this research provide critical insights into the influence of basadosa sanctions in reinforcing or challenging gender inequality, as well as providing policy recommendations to promote gender equality in the application of customary law.

Abstract

Court mediation procedures in Indonesia are regulated in the Regulation of the Supreme Court (PERMA) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2016 (Perma Nomor 01 Tahun 2016). If we compare it with other countries, such as Japan, even since the 1980s the concept of mediation has been popular among the people regarding how to resolve disputes by wakai. If viewed philosophically, the concept of mediation in Indonesia and wakai in Japan must have the same principle, because the value is the same, namely peace. This study aims to provide an overview of integrating the civil law judicial mediation process in Indonesia which is heavily influenced by the wakai system in Japan. The unification was carried out due to the reduced pile of cases in Japan caused by the implementation of the wakai system. However, the author also wants to show that the wakai proposal can also be implemented in the practice of Mediation based on Perma Number 1 of 2016. This research is a normative juridical research with library research method which includes research on legal principles and comparative law research. The approach used in this research is a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. The results of this study indicate that Perma Number 1 of 2016 which is applied to the State of Indonesia with wakai used in Japan materially, has similarities. However, formally or in practice there are some differences, especially regarding the status of the mediator. Several things from the practice of implementing wakai proposals that are considered suitable and in accordance with the character of Indonesia and do not conflict with the provisions of Perma Number 1 of 2016 are related to the practice of ex-officio mediators in formulating wakai proposals in assisting parties in formulating peace agreements.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji dilematisasi dan promblematika kebijakan baju batik moderasi beragama yang digagas oleh Kementerian Agama RI. Jenis penelitian ini adalah studi kepustakaan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif-analisis. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah menggunakan teknik dokumentasi, yakni mengumpulkan data-data dari sumber-sumber otoritatif baik website resmi Kemenag atau website lainnya yang membahas tentang batik moderasi Kementerian Agama RI. Kesimpulan artikel ini menjelaskan Pertama, dari aspek simbol, dengan mengakomodir simbol-simbol semua agama, maka secara orientasi batik ini dibuat sebagai upaya peneguhan semangat moderasi beragama, khususnya bagi para ASN di lingkungan Kementerian Agama. Namun, di sisi lain, karena simbol-simbol agama tersebut di satukan dalam satu produk (pakaian), maka ini yang memicu perdebatan, khususnya dari perspektif agama mayoritas (Islam) dan perspektif sosial. Kedua, sebagai sebuah kebijakan yang kontributif, paling tidak memenuhi empat kriteria, yakni; 1) Tidak kontradiktif dan problematik, 2) Tidak multitafsir, 3) Memiliki konsistensi; dan 4) Oprasional atau dapat diterapkan. Maka kebijakan batik moderasi agama ini belum sepenuhnya mengakomodir kriteria-kriteria tersebut. Hal ini bukan berarti kebijakan ini tidak memiliki signifikansi yang jelas, namun masih menunggu penjelasan dan ulasan dari pihak Kementerian Agama RI tentang tujuan dan keberlangsungan regulasi ini.
