Abstract

Along with the development of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015, Indonesia is required to generate professional human resources in order to compete with other countries, particularly subject to competition in the services sector. Hotel is a product in the hospitality industry that have an important role in the tourism business.Intense competition in the hospitality industry demand the hotels to provide the best service to the customers. Vocational education has a function to prepare a professional and competitive workforce in the industry. The hospitality graduates will be able to fill the existing organizational structure in accordance with the educational background. The Presidential Decree No.8, 2012, Article 5 states that equalizing learning outcomes generated through education with the level of qualification at KKNI. KKNI is intended as a description of outcomes that must be mastered by graduates of vocational education, higher education, vocational training institutions as well as independent study. Graduates of Vocational and D3 of hospitality began  their career in the hospitality industry by filling the positions in the organizational structure. In a few of star hotels in Medan, North Sumatra, hospitality graduates of vocational and D3 have competitive power in a very thin difference. Their entry level almost similar to the same position as well as employability skills and technical competence are almost equal that will provide a gap between the educational background of the career pathways that exist in the world of hospitality. It is very wise if there will be collaboration between the hotel industry, the educators, community leaders, and high-level policy makers in generating strategies to enhance the competitiveness of human resources professionals in the hospitality and placed in accordance with the level of education based KKNI.

Abstract

Two ornate stones from the Opak River are interesting to observe. Until now it is seen that each has a different function and meaning. BG. 748 decorated stone which contains the attributes of the deity, namely vajra, trident and padma which can all be associated with Shiva. Similarly with the ancient Javanese script which mentions na - ma - kha. The noun relates to yogis to attain a level of inner purity by doing good deeds and contemplation of God. The yogis do this by using a means called a yantra. Similarly, with the writing of kha is a symbol of the sankhya which is related to the position of the moon and stars which are 27 pieces, in accordance with the number of BG. 748. The circle in the middle may symbolize candra, making it possible if BG. 748 is a candramandala which is one of the yantra as well as a description of the typical nature of the god Shiva.

Abstract

Community service is something that still colors our daily lives. In various environments, these activities are carried out regularly, anticipating certain events and on several occasions are also carried out to help rehabilitate areas affected by natural disasters. Actually, this is not something new. For a long time this activity has been carried out. Data about it can be found in various historical sources. A new data in the form of a newly discovered inscription also confirms the information about it.

Abstract

Dalam tulisan singkat ini penulis mencoba untuk memanfaatkan prasasti sebagai salah satu sumber informasi tentang keberadaan perahu dl masa lampau. Kenyataannya, dari hasil pembacaan dan pembahasan oleh peneliti asing maupun bangsa sendlri terhadap beberapa prasastl yang dalam kesempatan ini digunakan sebagai bahan penulisan, dapat diketahui adanya beberapa jenis berikut fungsi perahu bahkan keberadaan petugas yang mengurusinya.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the aspects involved in planning tourism areas in the context of appropriate tourism strategies to achieve successful tourism in the Gomara natural tourism area, Simonis Village, Aek Natas District, North Labuhanbatu Regency. The model for finding strategic tourism planning uses the SOAR (Strength, Opportunity, Aspirations and Results) Model, as another alternative to SWOT analysis, this model is a combination of SWOT and Appreciative Inquiry (AI) strategies introduced by Jacqueline M. Stavros. This model focuses on involving all stakeholders and all implementation integrity, to obtain data about Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results to be achieved in determining the strategy and development of Gomara natural tourism. In this research, descriptive-analytic methods have been used, also library data, semi-structured interview methods and survey methods have been used to collect data. The statistical population of this study includes residents of Aek Natas Village, the Regional Government, NGOs related to Gomara natural tourism, Simonis Village, Aek Natas District, North Labuhanbatu Regency and visiting tourists. The research results show that there are great strengths and excellent opportunities for Gomara natural tourism, Simonis Village, Aek Natas District, North Labuhanbatu Regency. To achieve this aspiration. The government, NGOs, investors and, institutional elements, and local communities must have good collaboration to create a comprehensive tourism plan for Gomara natural tourism, Simonis Village, Aek Natas District, North Labuhanbatu Regency. such as: creating promotional strategies for the uniqueness and richness of tourist attractions, holding cultural festivals and exhibitions, designing websites, educating local people to make unique handicrafts as icons.
