Abstract

An advanced society is always changing according to the development of a better life. They are always looking for new information so as not to be out of date so that they can compete with other communities. The widespread use of technology in the era of globalization is increasing day by day. Through the use of technology in the 4.0 era, anyone anywhere and anytime can access all the information that exists in any corner of the world. With the help of technology, all information can be accessed quickly, this of course provides convenience in all fields of work. One of the advantages of using information technology is capturing, processing, storing and retransmitting data needed by humans. There are two approaches that can be taken on digital literacy covering two aspects, namely conceptual and operational approaches. One example is as in the educational environment, information technology is used by students in learning activities through the use of computers in schools or colleges that are supported by internet technology. However, without realizing it, in the midst of incessant efforts to modernize themselves, the community is also required to always be aware of and preserve its cultural wealth, namely regional languages that have existed as intellectual property for a long time. This regional language is the result of the creativity of our ancestors in daily communication to deal with any situation. One of the efforts that can be done is through a digital literacy culture. Empowerment of the use of regional languages can be done by implementing digital literacy in families, schools and communities.

Abstract

The development of Indonesian children's reading literacy is of particular concern, especially with the decline in the reading ability index, both according to PIRLS and PISA data, from year to year. The decline in reading literacy skills is of particular concern to the Indonesian government. Through various literacy programs, the government is trying to improve literacy skills. Several issues related to children's literacy skills related to the contribution of society, especially family, in encouraging a culture of literacy. This study attempts to examine and analyse issues related to basic educational literacy, both those related to the contribution of family literacy, digital and critical literacy. This research used a qualitative approach with a literature review. Data analysis was carried out narratively by collecting data in the form of documents (books, journal articles, research results). The results of the analysis show that the challenges of basic education literacy issues, especially in the 21st century, will be related to the readiness and contribution of society, especially family and school, and how society can face the challenges of information technology through critical digital literacy that is relevant and meaningful for children.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the impact of collaboration between teachers and parents on enhancing students' critical reading abilities. It examines existing literature on the collaboration between teachers and parents in primary schools, particularly emphasizing critical reading proficiency. A systematic search was conducted across five databases using specific criteria to select studies for further analysis. The findings suggest that collaborative efforts between teachers and parents significantly contribute to advancing and diversifying students' critical reading skills. Various strategies can be employed to facilitate this collaboration. Moreover, teachers and parents alike must enhance their knowledge not only on methods to improve children's critical reading skills but also on understanding each other's perspectives and backgrounds. Further research is essential to grasp these factors comprehensively and to develop and assess the impact of parental or teacher beliefs on children's critical reading abilities. Notwithstanding the existing disparities, the outcomes of this review underscore the potential of teacher-parent collaboration in enriching children's critical reading capability.
