Abstract

Penyakit Graves merupakan penyakit autoimun yang spesifik mengenai organ tiroid. Hipersekresi hormontiroid dari kelenjar tiroid distimulasi oleh antibodi reseptor tirotropin. Pada terapi tirotoksikosis, penggunaanpropylthiouracil (PTU)dapat menyebabkan efek samping yang fatal yaitu agranulositosis. Dilaporkankasusseorang wanita penderita penyakit graves denganbadanlemas, hangat, sukar tidur, agak cemas, berdebardebar,dan riwayat pemakaian PTU lama. Hasil laboratorium didapatkan hitung jumlah granulosit yangrendah. Pasien dirawat inapdiruang isolasi, mendapat antibiotik propilaksis, injeksi filgastrim, serta terapiPTU diganti dengan metimasol. Perawatan hari ke-7 hitung jumlah granulosit kembali normal, pasiendipulangkan.[MEDICINA.2016;50(3):1-5] Graves disease is autoimune disease that is spesific about the thyroid organ. Hypersecretion thyroid hormonefrom the thyroid gland stimulated by thyrotropin receptor antibody. In treatment of thyrotoxicosis, the use ofpropylthiouracil (PTU) can causeagranulocytosis, afatal side effects. Wereportedacase of woman withGraves' disease with body limp, warm, difficulty sleeping, a little anxiety, palpitations,and long history of theuse of PTU. The laboratory resultsfoundlowgranulocytescount. Patients treated in isolation room, receiveantibiotics prophilaksis, injection filgastrim, danPTU therapy was replaced with methimasol. Onday-7ofcare,granulocytescountreturns to normal, the patient was discharged.[MEDICINA.2016;50(3):1-5].

Abstract

The research aimed to analyze civic education against acts of intolerance in vocational schools, with a focus on the Department of Automotive Engineering in Jayapura. Common forms of intolerance, including discrimination, harassment, and exclusion based on ethnicity, religion, race, or culture, were the primary focus. There were 45 students from class X selected as respondents through purposive sampling applying a quantitative descriptive survey method. The research instrument consisted of 18 questions covering seven categories of intolerance. The survey data were analyzed descriptively to reveal the type and frequency of intolerance experienced by students. The research results show that most students in vocational schools experience acts of intolerance, especially verbal insults and religion-based intolerance. Verbal insults often involve derogatory comments or attitudes related to religious differences, while religion-based intolerance is manifested through a lack of respect for different beliefs or practices. The research also identifies a lack of understanding and awareness of the importance of respecting differences as a key factor in driving intolerance. This problem is exacerbated by the absence of formal education on diversity and tolerance in the school curriculum. Students express the need for more educational initiatives on tolerance and diversity in schools to support equality and solidarity efforts, which can foster respect across diverse backgrounds. These efforts are expected to reduce intolerance and promote a more inclusive and unified school environment.

Abstract

Higher education plays an important role in shaping student attitudes and personalities as drivers of social change. Although Pancasila is regarded as a moral and ethical guideline, students often face difficulties in applying these values in everyday life. The aim of this study is to evaluate students' understanding of Pancasila, their involvement in social change, and the way they see the challenge in the role of students as agents of change based on Pancasila. The study used a survey method with the population of Students of the Pancasila Education and Citizenship Studies Program at one of the Universities in Papua Province. Most respondents believe that Pancasila serves as a legal foundation and as a moral guideline; (2) the majority of respondents in this study are still engaged in social change movements or activities in the community and on campus, as well as showing strong commitment and awareness in building a better society; (3) raising public Awareness about Pancasil's policies is the main way respondents overcome difficulties in carrying out their duties as agents of change based on Pancasila. Educational institutions should care and support respondents in carrying out their duties as agents of change based on Pancasila.

Abstract

Discipline is a state that is formed and trained through the values of obedience, adherence, loyalty, serenity, order, and order. This research aims to know the concepts of discipline and how to shape the values of student discipline in academic and non-academic activities on FKIP IPS Management at one of the universities in Papua. This research involved 36 students. The method used in this research is qualitative method with purposive sampling techniques. Research results show that the concepts of discipline in academic and non-academic activities are values and mental attitudes. The results of this research clarify and produce forms of disciplinary awareness of students of IPS FKIP in one of the universities in Papua, among others: a) time commitment; b) appreciation of time; c) feelings of shame, guilt and fear; d) agreement as a rule. Furthermore, the student discipline concept of IPS is part of the discipline of democracy and self-imposed discipline that arises from within because of the impulse of feelings, wills and own minds to obey or do by themselves with the emphasis of educational approach. Rules are guidelines and directions, accomplishments are rewards. Abstract

Urgensi penelitian ini terletak pada perlunya mengeksplorasi model kepemimpinan di wilayah dengan tantangan ekstrem, di mana keterbatasan infrastruktur berupa status blank spot internet dan ketersediaan listrik tenaga surya yang hanya sebesar 500 watt menuntut resiliensi manajerial agar kualitas pembelajaran tetap terjaga. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran kepala sekolah sebagai pemimpin pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guru di SMAN Tiomneri. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi pembelajaran, dan telaah dokumen Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan delapan informan kunci yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling, terdiri dari satu orang Kepala Sekolah (KS), satu orang Wakil Kepala Sekolah (WK) bidang kurikulum, dan enam orang guru . Analisis data dilakukan dengan model interaktif (reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan), sedangkan keabsahan data diuji melalui triangulasi sumber, teknik, dan waktu, serta didukung member check dan peer debriefing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah menjalankan kepemimpinan pembelajaran melalui lima tanggung jawab utama, yaitu: 1) mendefinisikan dan mengkomunikasikan visi misi sekolah dengan menyelaraskan arah program sekolah, penegasan target kerja, dan penguatan komitmen guru agar pembelajaran tetap berorientasi pada tujuan; 2) mengoordinasikan kurikulum melalui fasilitasi perencanaan perangkat ajar, rapat/kerja kurikulum, koordinasi lintas mata pelajaran, serta dorongan inovasi pembelajaran yang kontekstual; 3) melaksanakan supervisi pembelajaran melalui kunjungan kelas, umpan balik, pendampingan, dan tindak lanjut perbaikan perangkat serta praktik mengajar; 4) memantau kemajuan belajar peserta didik melalui evaluasi hasil belajar, pembahasan capaian, serta program remedial dan pengayaan sebagai dasar perbaikan pembelajaran; dan 5) memelihara iklim belajar positif dengan penguatan disiplin, budaya kolaborasi, komunikasi kerja, serta dukungan pembinaan yang mendorong guru terus berkembang. Faktor pendukung mencakup dukungan komite/orang tua, komitmen guru, forum MGMP sekolah, pemanfaatan potensi lokal sebagai sumber belajar, dan motivasi peserta didik. Secara ilmiah, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi empiris bagi pengembangan praktik kepemimpinan pembelajaran pada konteks SMAN Tiomneri sebagai sekolah menengah atas negeri di Kabupaten Lanny Jaya, Provinsi Papua Pegunungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter (PPK) berbasis kelas dalam meningkatkan kompetensi sosial emosional siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Malagai, Kabupaten Lanny Jaya, Provinsi Papua Pegunungan. Kajian ini didasarkan pada urgensi model supervisi kolaboratif yang efisien untuk mengatasi berbagai hambatan instruksional di daerah terpencil. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, data dihimpun melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi pembelajaran, dan studi dokumentasi yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, hingga tokoh adat setempat. Analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif dengan uji keabsahan melalui teknik triangulasi dan member checking. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PPK berbasis kelas dilaksanakan melalui integrasi nilai karakter dalam perencanaan, praktik keteladanan serta disiplin positif dalam pelaksanaan, serta evaluasi reflektif yang kontekstual. Nilai kearifan lokal seperti semangat kebersamaan dan aturan adat diintegrasikan untuk memperkuat pengalaman sosial siswa di lingkungan kelas. Faktor pendukung utama mencakup komitmen guru dan dukungan komunitas, sedangkan hambatan dominan meliputi keterbatasan akses listrik, internet, sarana belajar, serta beban administrasi. Implementasi ini terbukti memperkuat lima pilar kompetensi sosial emosional siswa, yakni kesadaran diri, pengelolaan emosi, empati, keterampilan berelasi, dan pengambilan keputusan bertanggung jawab. Disimpulkan bahwa dalam konteks wilayah 3T Papua Pegunungan, keberhasilan pendidikan karakter lebih ditentukan oleh konsistensi praktik keteladanan dan pengalaman sosial yang nyata dibandingkan sekadar pemenuhan kelengkapan administrasi formal. Hal ini menegaskan pentingnya pendekatan pendidikan yang adaptif terhadap realitas lokal demi menjamin mutu pembelajaran yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the principal's leadership strategies in improving teacher performance in the digitalization era at SMP Negeri 2 Tiom, Lanny Jaya Regency, Highland Papua Province. The focus includes strategies for fostering morale and confidence, providing guidance and direction, the role of modeling, and providing inspiration, as well as identifying supporting factors, inhibitors, and the impact of these strategies. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight informants (principal, teachers, operator, committee, and students), participant observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the principal implements a "Context-Responsive Digital Leadership" strategy through a humanist and communicative approach to reduce the psychological barriers of teachers in 3T (Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged) regions. Guidance is provided through reflective clinical supervision and internal peer mentoring programs to overcome the limitations of external training. The principal's digital role modeling in school administration serves as a catalyst for teachers to begin adopting technology gradually. The findings identify that the availability of 24-hour electricity since mid-2024 is a primary supporting factor, while internet infrastructure and the 2026 student device restriction policy are significant inhibitors. The implementation of these strategies has a positive impact on increasing teacher discipline and student learning motivation. The study concludes that integrating "Noken" local wisdom values into the school's digital culture strengthens the resilience of educational institutions in remote areas.

Abstract

The implementation of education policies in underdeveloped regions of Papua faces geographical barriers, digital limitations, and highly complex sociocultural dynamics. This study aims to analyze in-depth the collaboration mechanisms between schools and parents at SMP Negeri 1 Tiom, Lanny Jaya, to improve student achievement. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data was collected from eleven key informants through purposive sampling and validated using a triangulation strategy and sources. The research steps included participant observation at committee meetings, in-depth interviews regarding parenting patterns, and an analysis of the achievement information system. The research findings revealed that integrating WhatsApp communication with traditional methods such as home visits and contact books was highly effective in breaking down distance barriers and strengthening student discipline. Furthermore, family education through religious forums was proven to increase parents' understanding of the importance of daily learning support. The implementation of an informal talent mapping strategy also stimulated the intrinsic motivation of indigenous Papuan students. Quantitative results showed a tangible impact in the form of an increase in students' average academic scores from 70 to 78 and a significant decrease in absenteeism. The main conclusion confirms that a flexible, transparent partnership model based on the local wisdom of the Lani community is a strategic key in maintaining the sustainability of education services while breaking the chain of poverty in the interior of the Papua Highlands. ABSTRAK Penerapan kebijakan pendidikan di wilayah tertinggal Papua menghadapi hambatan geografis, keterbatasan digital, serta dinamika sosiokultural yang sangat kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis secara mendalam mekanisme kolaborasi antara pihak sekolah dan orang tua di SMP Negeri 1 Tiom, Lanny Jaya, untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, data dihimpun dari sebelas informan kunci melalui teknik purposive sampling dan divalidasi menggunakan strategi triangulasi teknik serta sumber. Langkah penelitian mencakup observasi partisipatif pada rapat komite, wawancara mendalam terkait pola asuh, dan analisis sistem informasi prestasi. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa integrasi komunikasi media WhatsApp dengan metode tradisional seperti kunjungan rumah dan buku penghubung sangat efektif meruntuhkan kendala jarak serta memperkuat disiplin siswa. Selain itu, edukasi keluarga melalui forum keagamaan terbukti meningkatkan pemahaman wali murid mengenai pentingnya pendampingan belajar harian. Penerapan strategi pemetaan bakat secara informal juga mampu membangkitkan motivasi intrinsik siswa asli Papua. Hasil kuantitatif menunjukkan dampak nyata berupa kenaikan rata-rata nilai akademik siswa dari skor 70 menjadi 78 serta penurunan angka absensi secara signifikan. Simpulan utama menegaskan bahwa model kemitraan yang fleksibel, transparan, dan berbasis kearifan lokal masyarakat Lani merupakan kunci strategis dalam menjaga keberlanjutan layanan pendidikan sekaligus memutus rantai kemiskinan di pedalaman Papua Pegunungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan keahlian dan keterampilan lulusan di SMK Yapis Mimika, yang meliputi kompetensi teknis, kesesuaian dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja, keterampilan komunikasi, dan kemampuan kerja sama tim. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung, faktor penghambat, serta dampak dari strategi tersebut.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 10 orang, yang terdiri atas kepala sekolah, guru produktif, alumni, serta perwakilan dunia usaha dan dunia industri (DUDI).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi kepala sekolah dilaksanakan secara terencana dan berorientasi pada kebutuhan DUDI melalui pembelajaran berbasis praktik industri, teaching factory, kelas industri, Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL), serta sinkronisasi kurikulum dan uji kompetensi. Strategi tersebut terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi teknis siswa sekaligus memastikan kesesuaian lulusan dengan tuntutan dunia kerja. Selain itu, penerapan Project-Based Learning, kegiatan praktik, serta pembinaan karakter mampu mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi dan kerja sama tim siswa.

Abstract

Complex sociocultural challenges and ethnic heterogeneity in the vocational high school environment in Papua often trigger the emergence of violence between students. This study aims to analyze in depth the implementation of multicultural leadership of the principal to prevent violence at SMKS YPK TIK Serui, Yapen Islands Regency. The focus of the study includes the development of democratic attitudes, internalization of the diversity paradigm, enforcement of anti-discrimination principles, and development of gender sensitivity. The research method used is a mixed method explanatory sequential design through the distribution of questionnaires to fifty student respondents and interviews with nine key informants. Quantitative findings show that multicultural leadership indicators are in the moderate category, with an anti-discrimination score of 66.91%, diversity paradigm 63.20%, gender sensitivity 62.80%, and democratic attitudes 58.60%. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of Papuan local wisdom, namely Three Stones One Furnace, into the school managerial system. Supporting factors include foundation support, while obstacles include the influence of alcohol. As a result, physical violence was successfully reduced by 62.7%, but a new challenge emerged in the form of digital violence, which increased by 67%. The study's conclusions confirm that multicultural leadership based on restorative justice is highly effective in significantly reducing physical aggression. However, educational institutions need to strengthen systemic multicultural digital literacy strategies to address the increasingly complex dynamics of violence in the digital era and to create sustainable school harmony. ABSTRAK Tantangan sosiokultural dan heterogenitas etnis yang kompleks di lingkungan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan wilayah Papua sering kali memicu munculnya fenomena kekerasan antarsiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam penerapan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah berwawasan multikultural guna mencegah kekerasan di SMKS YPK TIK Serui, Kabupaten Kepulauan Yapen. Fokus kajian meliputi pembangunan sikap demokratis, internalisasi paradigma keragaman, penegakan prinsip anti-diskriminasi, serta pengembangan sensitivitas gender. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode campuran desain sekuensial eksplanatori melalui penyebaran angket kepada lima puluh responden siswa dan wawancara sembilan informan kunci. Temuan kuantitatif menunjukkan indikator kepemimpinan multikultural berada pada kategori sedang, dengan skor anti-diskriminasi 66,91%, paradigma keragaman 63,20%, sensitivitas gender 62,80%, serta sikap demokratis 58,60%. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada integrasi kearifan lokal Papua yakni Tiga Batu Satu Tungku ke dalam sistem manajerial sekolah. Faktor pendukung melibatkan dukungan yayasan, sementara hambatan mencakup pengaruh minuman keras. Dampaknya, kekerasan fisik berhasil ditekan hingga tingkat 62,7%, namun muncul tantangan baru berupa kekerasan digital sebesar 67%. Simpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan multikultural berbasis keadilan restoratif sangat efektif dalam mereduksi agresi fisik secara signifikan, akan tetapi institusi pendidikan memerlukan penguatan strategi literasi digital multikultural yang sistemik untuk menghadapi dinamika kekerasan di era digital yang semakin kompleks demi terciptanya harmonisasi sekolah secara berkesinambungan.
