Abstract

Research about Aswameda as a ritual procession wrapped in power in the text Aswamedaparwa this aims to expand social life in literary works related to power. Rituals Aswameda in the text description he has not been punished is part of the great ceremony carried out by Yudistira in the text Aswamedapara as an effort to ask for forgiveness and atonement for the murder he committed against his relatives in the war Bharatayuda. This ritual is marked by the release of horses escorted by selected soldiers across other kingdom areas. Regions that recognize the authority of Hastinapura will allow horses to pass, whereas regions that try to block them will be resolved by war. This research uses the literature study method which is directed at searching for data through documents that support the research process. The theories used are structural theory and reception theory. The results of this research will be a reflection of life in the form of traces of past culture reflected in literary works.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that Modern Balinese is a continuation of Ancient Balinese. Theoretically, various things in language change are very possible, both microlinguistically and macrolinguistically. This research concerns microlinguistic aspects, especially changes in lexical form and meaning. The aim of this research is to describe changes in the lexical form of Old Balinese in Modern Balinese. The theory used is structural theory. This research is descriptive qualitative in nature. To describe data and analysis, there are three stages of the method used, namely providing data, analyzing data, and presenting analysis results. The data collected is classified based on linguistic characteristics and then described and compared with the initial form and the derived form. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analytical methods and matching methods. Presentation of results is carried out using formal-informal methods. The results of the analysis show that lexical changes from Old Balinese to Modern Balinese can occur phonologically in both form and meaning. The form of change is in the form of complete lexical changes and some are partial changes.

Abstract

This research, titled "Social Values in Komang Adnyana's Short Story 'Ngantén'," delves into a specific short story, "Ngantén." This particular piece is one of the many compelling titles found within the "Métek Bintang " short story collection. The themes explored in "Métek-Bintang" are remarkably diverse and engaging, encompassing contemporary issues such as transgender identity, LGBTQ+ concerns, child trafficking, and numerous other fascinating topics that significantly enrich modern Balinese literature. The primary objective of this analysis is to ascertain the social values embedded within the chosen short story. To achieve this, the study employed a methodical approach, dividing its research techniques into three distinct stages. Data provision involved observation and careful reading, complemented by translation techniques to ensure accurate comprehension, and meticulous note-taking. The subsequent data analysis phase utilized a qualitative method, supported by descriptive analytical techniques to thoroughly interpret the findings. Finally, the presentation of the analysis results was conducted using an informal method for clear communication. This research specifically adopted a sociology of literature approach to examine the interplay between the literary work and its societal context. The findings reveal the presence of five key social values within the short story: religious values, mutual assistance, forgiveness, compassion, and responsibility
