Abstract

Background: Workload is closely related to work capacity. One of the factors that affect the value of the workload is the tasks that are carried out both physically and mentally. Objective: To determine the relationship between Work Attitude and Work Position towards Workload on Tomato Fruit Sorting Workers in Semanding Village. Methods: analytic descriptive research, using cross sectional analytics research design, that is, the measurements and observations are conducted once with a total sampling technique. The subjects were 12 tomato sorting workers. This research used measurement of workload using Work Pulse Measurement. Results: The analysis results to the final condition (post) are higher than the initial conditions (pre) and the p value = 0.001. Conclusion: Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a significant increase in the workload.

Abstract

Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal disorders, affecting functional ability and quality of life. Ultrasound therapy and core stability exercises are commonly used interventions for LBP, yet limited local studies have evaluated the effectiveness of their combination. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of combining ultrasound therapy and core stability exercises in reducing pain intensity among LBP patients. Method: This quasi-experimental study used a pre-test and post-test control group design. Thirty LBP patients were divided into two groups: experimental (ultrasound + core stability exercise) and control (ultrasound only). Interventions were administered twice a week for 4 weeks. Pain intensity was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Statistical analysis included paired t-tests and independent t-tests with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: Both groups experienced a significant reduction in pain (p < 0.001), but the experimental group showed a significantly greater decrease in pain intensity compared to the control group (mean VAS reduction: 4.3 vs 2.1; p < 0.001). Conclusion: The combination of ultrasound therapy and core stability exercise is more effective in reducing pain levels in LBP patients than ultrasound therapy alone. A multimodal approach is recommended for optimal LBP pain management.   Keywords: Core Stability Exercise; Low Back Pain; Pain; Physiotherapy; Ultrasound. Kata Kunci: Core Stability Exercise; Fisioterapi; Low Back Pain; Nyeri; Ultrasound.

Abstract

Aging process contributes to gradual deterioration of sensorimotor function including somatosensory, vestibular, and visual systems which increases the likelihood of balance impairment and falls among older adults. This underscores the urgency of conducting systematic balance assessments and implementing targeted interventions. This community engagement program aimed to evaluate the static balance of older adults using the Romberg Test and to enhance balance ability through Virtual Reality (VR) based training within the Social Club Indonesia community. The program involved coordination with the Senior Madani Foundation, baseline assessment of postural stability, and dynamic balance exercises using VR tennis as a multisensory activity. Twenty-five older adults participated in the program. Romberg Test findings revealed that 18 participants maintained stability with eyes open, whereas only 5 remained stable with eyes closed, while the others demonstrated slight sway progressing to instability. That is indicating reliance on visual input and reduced sensorimotor integration. After three VR training sessions, notable improvements were observed: 20 participants showed better stability with eyes open, and 12 demonstrated improved balance with eyes closed, while the remaining participants continued to experience mild sway to instability. VR training elicited highly positive feedback; participants reported increased confidence, enjoyment, and willingness to move compared to traditional exercises. The activity also fostered social engagement and intrinsic motivation, demonstrated by participants’ interest in acquiring VR devices and seeking physiotherapy services that incorporate digital technologies. Overall, the program successfully improved participants’ training experience, enhanced social interaction, and raised awareness of the importance of continuous balance training for fall prevention in older adults.ABSTRAKPenuaan berdampak pada penurunan fungsi sensorimotor, meliputi sistem somatosensorik, vestibular, dan visual, yang berkontribusi terhadap meningkatnya risiko gangguan keseimbangan dan jatuh pada lansia.
